I would like to learn couture sewing techniques to broaden my skills and make my sewing projects look more professional. My goal is to start selling doll clothes soon, but also to teach my daughter.
What a wonderful opportunity it will be for a passionate seamstress to learn precision techniques!
I’d love to be the lucky winner.
I LOVED taking the Design Academy, and since have started collecting 18" dolls at our local Goodwill. I am restoring them for our Shriners Hospital that has children come from all over the World (as burn victims). My plan is to outfit all the dolls with clothing for them to take back home. I would like my skills to improve so that the clothing will last through vigorous play. Thank you for offering ALL the classes you do. Blessings, Cathy F.
My mother was an excellent seamstress. She designed and sewed much of our clothing as children and made all of my lavishly beaded figure skating costumes. I only recently discovered PixieFaire and have become enthralled with the challenge of making beautiful doll clothing! It made me realize how much I had “absorbed” from her about sewing technique. Now I would like to learn more about couture sewing to create unique, sophisticated and inspiring doll clothing. Then I can do what my mother did for me: excite in my granddaughters the passion to learn to sew (or knit or crochet), not only for their dolls, but eventually for their children and grandchildren. Perhaps, with the aid of this course, I can pass on my mother’s legacy to future generations.
I want to learn couture techniques so I can have my projects look more professional in the hopes of one day actually having my own little business. Sewing is my passion.
