I want to learn couture techniques to take my sewing to the next level. I have sewn for years and consider my skills good. I want to learn these couture techniques to be able to put that wow into my doll sewing. There is nothing like the satisfaction of seeing a young girl’s face light up when they see a "Cinderella " type of dress for her doll. I want to see that face on my grand daughter!

I want to learn couture techniques so I can feel that I live up to my “I’ve been sewing for 40 years.” I may have been sewing that long but I don’t know nearly all the things that I should know for having sewn that long. I want to ramp up my doll sewing so I’ll feel that people other than kids would be interested in my doll clothes.

I would love to learn couture techniques to expand my knowledge and skills for making historically accurate doll clothing for my granddaughters’ American Girl dolls. After a trip to Williamsburg, VA, having historically accurate clothing became very important…..especially the under garments!

I would like to learn couture techniques so that I will have the skills and confidence to work with some of the luxury fabrics that are available. I think that being able to work in doll size wih these techniques would satisfy my “lust” for these fabrics and give the fabrics the treatment they deserve without breaking the bank.

I have completed the design academy and I am now taking part in the pattern academy and I wish to take part in the other courses also as I find them invaluable resources of information. I want to learn couture techniques so I can use them in designing my own doll clothes and for volunteer work that I do making theater costumes at my local high school. I have already learned numerous time saving techniques from current Pixie Faire patterns that have been very beneficial. Also, I just finished taking the January Craft Business Academy Workshop. I gained a massive amount of tips for running an online home-based business from that site. I feel confident that every training offered by this company will offer a treasure trove of tidbits and useful knowledge that would be beneficial to both homemakers sewing for their families and professional seamstresses who wish to elevate and expand their skills. Although I have basic sewing skills done, being able to take this class would enable me to greatly improve the skills I have learned on my own. I have taken a lot of sewing classes and have made a few clothing and house ware which were bigger pieces. Doll clothes are smaller and more detailed and this would be something that I can add to my learning of sewing for advancement for myself and grand girls. They are 2, 4, 6 and 8. I think this would be a nice addition to my sewing experiences and maybe my little ladies would also learn the tradition that you teach and pass it on to their young ladies. This could also include dresses and accessories for their children as well as dolls.

I’ve been making no frills Barbie clothes and AG doll clothes forever. Now it’s time for a new challenge. I ‘ve moved on to making cloth “Diva” dolls and they need dresses, coats, hats, shoes, corsets…a complete couture wardrobe! I want to learn couture techniques because sadly my current sewing technique is quite basic. I’ve always known that when the inside of a garment is as nicely finished as the outside, then you know it is well and thoughtfully made. I’d love to win this class. I have pieced together a Queen size Quilt by hand & then Quilted it by hand- I loved every minute of it. I am now sewing Doll clothes to give to my Granddaughter for Christmas.
