We are working hard on the content for our latest class - The Couture Sewing Academy! It goes "live" on April 1st, (no joke). So to help launch it with some fun and enthusiasm we thought we'd do a comment contest.

I want to learn couture techniques so I can sew quality doll clothes for personal enjoyment and charity donations. I currently knit donations and would love to have sewn items to pair with them that have pizazz.

I want to learn couture sewing techniques because every time I sew a new outfit for a doll, I remember the wonder I felt standing beside an “adopted” grandmother as she sewed special things for me using newspaper patterns, with beautiful details in spite of having no formal training. It is her memory that planted in me a love for sewing and a love for giving the gifts of my hand to little ones whose eyes and smiles light up a room in surprise. Every time I learn a new skill and then share it with someone, I am reminded “Mother Brown would be so proud!”
