Free Doll Clothes Pattern (August 31st, 2018) Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

On Friday, August 31st, 2018 we are offering a free pattern from Margie Bowie founder of Little Miss Muffett. Be sure to vote today and then come back and get your copy of the winning pattern on Friday.

More About Margie In Her Own Words: "I have always had a love of sewing and have been fascinated with manipulating fabric since being taught by my gran at around the age of 7. In more recent years, besides general sewing, I have made and taught quilting. My love of dolls was put on hold for many years until three years ago when I happened upon Pixie Faire’s site and fell in love with all the outfits and beautiful dolls. Living in South Africa, good quality dolls are not readily available, but a month after venturing into the doll world, my son surprised me with my beautiful AG Julie and with much encouragement from him, my late husband and awesome friends, I started designing dolls’ clothes. I have finally found my niche and love every minute of it."

More About Each Pattern:

Frilled To Bits 18" Doll Clothes Pattern  Dancing, Carnivals, Fun and Fiesta! This gorgeous dress, or top and pants suit are perfect for partying. The A-Line sleeveless dress or top has piping along the ruffled insert, neckline and armholes. A fabric bow finishes the apex of the ruffled insert. The dress or top are fully lined and close with hook and loop tape in back. The pants echo the ruffled insert of the top, sporting piping and a ruffle with bow on the right leg. The pretty dress or pants outfit is quick to make; use bright florals, lace, contrasting piping, bold colors, whatever you fancy. This relatively easy PDF pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Olympia 18" Doll Clothes Pattern  Made with the Olympic colors and flags in mind, this stylishly fitted dress and pants suit have striking colored ‘flags’ of their own.   Four trendy triangular flags run down the right side of the dress, three down the top and one flag sits on either side of the Capri pants.  Subtle piping enhances the contrast fabric of the dress and top, as well as the cuffs of the capris.  The capris have elastic in the waist for easy dressing.  Both the dress and top are fully lined and close with snap fasteners.  A decorative buckle finishes the left shoulder strap.  This easy and very quick to make PDF pattern, is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Rainy Days Are Fun Days 18" Doll Clothes Pattern - Based on the fabulous coat worn by everyone’s favorite pirate, this gorgeous little hooded raincoat has a few tricks of its own. Being totally reversible, from sleeve cuffs to belt, it also has reverse color-way pockets, secret inside pockets and the hood is generous for dolly hair. The cute Umbrella Sheath is also reversible. Made from pliable fabrics with a sheen, such as Chintz, wax-impregnated fabrics or Quilter’s Cotton, and with plenty of top-stitching together with a unique construction technique, this relatively easy PDF pattern creates an adorable and stylish little raincoat which every 18” girl should not be without. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Kentucky Blue 18" Doll Clothes Pattern - This beautiful versatile outfit comprises a skirt, corset-style top, faux sleeves and a lacy vest. The skirt has a lined Basque with an elasticized waist and tiny belt loops to carry a pretty ribbon; the body of the gathered skirt is topped with an outer petticoat of four layers of lace and gathered Tulle softens the hem edge. The corset-style top is lined, closes with hook and loop tape in back and has a button placket down Center Front with optional gathered lace inserts. A layer of gathered lace edges the top of the corset to soften the top-stitching. The little pull-on sleeves are gathered at both the top and cuff, edged in lace and have pretty bows to finish. The vest is an oval of heritage lace edged in bias trim. The armholes have facings rather than bias trim for ease of stitching. There is a small hook and loop tape strip at Centre Front for closure which is covered with a tiny bow.

Thank you, Margie, for sharing your talent with us. These patterns are all adorable. My favorites are Frilled to Bits, and Rainy Day and I can’t seem to decide. Hopefully one of them is the winner, I’ll be happy with either…and purchase the other! Thanks, again.
PS: Thanks, Melodie for the info on Amazon Smile…was not aware. Now I am. 😊
