My favorite holiday tradition is . . . leftover turkey sandwiches for supper!
When my sons, now aged 40 and 41, were in Boy Scouts, their troop sponsored a Christmas dinner for homeless, underprivileged or lonely people in our city. Although our sons are grown and have their own families, my husband and I have continued to volunteer our time for this special event. The first few years, only a couple hundred meals were served. This year enough food for 1,000 meals was prepared. Rides or home delivered meals are available. Over the years, we have been involved in nearly every aspect of this event, from serving, hosting, delivering meals, and even playing Santa and Mrs. Claus! We plan to continue this as long as we are able-bodied.
I love playing board games with the whole family.
Spending time with my husband and daughter.
Enjoying the Christmas lights and wishing my friends and family a Merry Christmas!

My favorite holiday tradition is watching my kids open their presents with all they ask for (they have small specific lists). And, Christmas music, and food and… but my very favorite is that my family is all together!
My favorite holiday tradition is decorating cookies with my kids.
My favourite family tradition is having my children with their husband and the extended family for a hot Christmas dinner and making memories.
My favorite holiday tradition is having breakfast with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons before opening gifts. I prepare the breakfast casserole the night before and bake it just in time to arrive at their house with food piping hot and ready to serve. We enjoy food and fellowship before the gifts begin. Other members of our son-in-law’s family arrive in time for lunch and more visiting. Sharing something as special as Christmas with one another makes the day even more meaningful throughout the year.
Many of the things I love about Christmas are gone now; my family has shrunk, and the only child in the family is 30-ish. But, there is one holiday tradition I can still keep up: In memory of the Teddy bear I found on the tree in 1954, each Christmas for many decades I have taken an opportunity to buy a special teddy bear to donate to whatever Christmas charity we have going that year, for those less fortunate than us (and we were never rich). I like to think that on Christmas morning some child feels the joy I did, getting that teddy bear. I still have him, he’s named Grandpa Teddy.
Merry Christmas to Cinnamon, Jason, and all the liberty Jane and Pixie Fair folks!
