Free Doll Clothes Pattern (Friday May 26, 2017) Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

On Friday (May 26th, 2017) we are offering a free pattern from Margie Bowie founder of Little Miss Muffett. Be sure to vote today and then come back and get your copy of the winning pattern on Friday.

More About Margie In Her Own Words: “I have always had a love of sewing and have been fascinated with manipulating fabric since being taught by my gran at around the age of 7. In more recent years, besides general sewing, I have made and taught quilting.  My love of dolls was put on hold for many years until two years ago when I happened upon Pixie Faire’s site and fell in love with all the outfits and beautiful dolls.

Living in South Africa, good quality dolls are not readily available, but a month after venturing into the doll world, my son surprised me with my beautiful AG Julie and with much encouragement from him, my late husband and awesome friends, I started designing dolls’ clothes.  I have finally found my niche and am loving every minute of it.”

Vote Now (Special FYI, voting will close at 4pm Pacific on the 25th):

More About Each Pattern:

Edwardian Fall Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: This relatively easy PDF pattern offers a charming little outfit which is based on an Edwardian style for little girls. Although not historically correct, it is perfect for today’s 18” Miss to wear on cooler days. The pretty, clean lines of the dress, finished off with lace at the neck, cuff and hem edges, has Broderie Anglaise sleeves, which is also repeated in the make-up of the Pinafore. A tiny ribbon bow completes the front neck edge. The fully lined Pinafore has ruffles at the hem edge and ties at the back with ribbon. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®. Recommended Fabrics:  Cotton, Taffeta (fabric of Choice for the Dress); Broderie Anglaise for the Pinafore and Lightweight Cotton or Muslin for the Pinafore Lining.

Homecoming Queen Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: Let the fabric do the work and your imagination run wild when creating your 18” girl’s very own Homecoming Ball Gown. Fabrics such as Taffeta, Satin and Voile to Lace Embossed Linen, Crystalline and raw silk; including a host of different embellishments – anything goes and the choice is yours. This easy PDF pattern includes three different skirt and trim options, and a cute little sash. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl ®.

Teachers Pet Reversible Blouse & Skirt Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: It’s ‘Back to School’ for our 18-inch Miss and time for uniforms, book bags and bus rides. This adorable School Uniform was made using both Quilter’s and Lightweight Cotton. Being totally reversible, this relatively easy PDF pattern offers four alternative outfits – perfect for the girl-on-the-go. Mix checks and plaids with solids for a delightful uniform, or patterns and plains for a cute skirt and blouse. Or, make a school uniform on one side and an after-school outfit on the other – the options and color combinations are endless. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Time To Celebrate Dress Designed To Fit 18 Inch Doll Such As American Girl®: This gorgeous little dress offers so much variation – mix and match fabrics, combine sheers with velvet, taffeta and organza, the choice is yours. The PDF pattern offers a very quick and easy dress to make, and by adding pretty sparkly trim, a dazzling party dress is created. Change the fabric and add a ribbon or fabric rose and another stunning dress is born. Keep it simple with cotton fabric; add a large button for a pretty day dress. Let your imagination run wild. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl.

I had a hard time finding the freebie friday patterns this week to chose from! I tried all day on thursday. I tried today and found the poles had been closed at 4:00 PM. Is this a new rule now? I was unhappy that last weeks winner had been substituted with the shorts outfit. If I voted, I would have voted for the homecoming gown!

Margie – you have created some adorable outfits for us to choose from. Wow. I voted for Homecoming Queen, but it was really hard to choose. I hovered my cursor back and forth between the Homecoming Queen, Teacher’s Pet, and Time To Celebrate then just finally picked one. I would be thrilled with any of those three.

All of them have such wonderful details however my favourite has to be ’Teacher’s Pet’ due to its a two-piece ensemble that provides an option of mix ’n match not to mention pieces that pieces can be sewn as a reversible. Thanks so much Margie for your generosity!
