Free Doll Clothes Pattern (March 2nd , 2018) Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

On Friday (March 2nd, 2018) we are offering a free doll clothes pattern from Cherie Peden of Ma Petite Cherie Couture. Be sure to vote today and then come back and get your copy of the winning pattern on Friday.

More About Cherie: I have been sewing since I was about 4 years old. I learned to sew at my mothers knee. I learned to sew Barbie clothes not by hand but by machine. I remember when I was about 10 seeing an outfit that my Grandmother had made for her Barbie that she had done completely by hand and thinking why would anyone take that kind of time. I learned to crochet at age 7 again under my mothers watchful eye. I also learned to knit but as crochet builds faster knitting fell the way of hand sewing I do if needed. I am the wife to a software engineer and mother to 4 daughters that I home schooled for most of their elementary years. When I am not designing and writing doll clothes patterns I work as a teachers aide in a private school.

More About Each Pattern:

The Kara Shoe Pattern For 18" Dolls:  These simple open toe flats for 18" dolls have a twist - they are missing one side of the shoe! They are super easy to make and take a minimal amount of fabric to make.

The Anna Shoe Pattern for 18" Dolls: Does dolly like bows but not big full bows? Well here is an open toe shoe that has half a bow across the toe! The outside edge of the bow is lined with small beads and the arch side of the shoe is open. This shoe would be pretty in light weight silks and satins as well as in light weight wools.

The Posie Toe Slippers Crochet Pattern for 18" Dolls:  Crochet your doll an adorable pair of ballet style slippers!  These slippers are adorned with with a cabbage rose set atop a dainty doily on the toe.  This PDF pattern will fit most 18" doll feet thanks to the adjustable tie on the back of the foot.

The Gems Shoe Crochet Pattern for 18" Dolls:  The Gems shoe is a striped slip on shoe. This pattern will show you how to create a cute shoe for your 18" doll. The shoe is crocheted in 3 pieces and then crocheted together. No sewing is required!! It has a crocheted flange that is glued between a fabric covered sole and a foam sole, with an edge that covers the seam between the two perfectly..

Take a look at the pattern:

We'd love to hear from you! Leave a comment below and thank Cherie!

If you make a cute outfit using this pattern be sure to share a picture using the #pixiefaire and on Instagram!

hmmm, Cherie, Thank you for your generosity and creativity :)

I do like the ease of crochet, and do love the slippers and Gems, but,
I like Kara and Anna shoes, they both have open insteps, great for summer formal dressy events, but I am sure they would be just as great for casual summer events in the right materials, hmm, I am voting for Kara.

Thank you Cherie, for your generosity in contributing your lovely patterns to another Pixie Faire Freebee! I adore them all, but choose Gems for its versatility. It will look awesome with the Spring fashions whether casual or dressy and probably go together pretty fast. Great pattern for those of us just learning crochet, as it looks like just one stitch repeated throughout. Thanks Cinnamon and all the contributors. How fun is this!

It’s a hard choice between the Kara shoes and the Gems this week. Flip of a coin and the Kara shoes won, so the Kara shoes get my vote this week. Thanks Cherie and Cinnamon for your lovely patterns.

I want them all! I would vote for Gems but my arthritis makes it hard to work with thread and hooks that are that small. So I’m going for the Kara shoes. I love that it looks like it will be super easy to put them on and take them off, and they would be so versatile too! Thanks for being so generous :D

They’re all very nice. I like the GEMS the best, but I can understand that one who does not crochet would not vote for this one. If I were not familiar with crochet, I’d want the KARA, so this is the one I voted for. I like to vote for the one I think will win..

Thank you Cherie, these are lovely patterns. Sadly I don’t know how to crochet and was therefore torn between Kara and Anna. I closed my eyes and the vote went to Anna. Whichever pattern comes out on top I am grateful for your generosity (even if that means I have to learn to crochet).

Thank you, Cherie…you are most generous this week! I am voting for the Gems pattern since I know how to crochet and this pattern looks like it could be so versatile depending on the colors or yarn used.

Kara shoes for me, thanks! With regards to the one side open and possibility of not keeping it on the doll, I think a strip of elastic to connect would work! If it was clear invisible type, it wouldn’t show, but colored to match would be fine too!

The shoes are all so cute but I prefer the Kara shoes this time. It is somewhat funny that the free pattern this week is for shoes. There has been a lot of discussion among many of us lately on how to make shoes. Are you reading our minds? Regardless, thank you Cherie for the pattern and to Cinnamon and Pixie Faire too for doing these contests. I can’t wait to see which pattern wins the vote this week. :-)

Hi Cherie. Your shoes are really cute. Thank you for once again contributing to another Pixie Faire Freebie! You are very kind. I voted for the Gems shoe pattern because I like its versatility. The style looks modern and casual, yet it is also a great style for Hispanic outfits, even period designs for Josephina. I think this style will complement modern dolls outfits too, especially summer wear and pants too. It looks like another pattern is getting more votes, but I’m rooting for this cute and versatile design. If it doesn’t win, I guess I’ll have to treat myself to this little cutie. :-) Thanks you and God bless.

I picked the Posie Toe Slippers because I can make these, I just can’t seem to make the other shoes and have them turn out for me. Also, Kara, is one side left open on purpose? Is there a way to enclose both sides? My granddaughters are young and I can’t see that they would be able to keep them on the doll??

This one is difficult because I like them all, and I just bought three patterns for shoes. I’d love the crochet ones, but I will vote for Anna shoes to use with some silks, and it could be made to match the formal wear outfits, fabulous! Thank you Cherrie!
