Hi everyone,
On Friday (June 9th, 2017) we are highlighting the work of Heidi Mittiga of Flossie Potter patterns. This pattern will be free one-day-only and then it will return to the regular price.
More About Heidi Mittiga and Flossie Potter Designs, (in her own words): Hello! I’m Heidi Mittiga, designer of Flossie Potter Patterns. I’ve been with Pixie Faire for several years now, and it’s been a wonderful experience where I’ve “met” many creative and talented people. My tag line is “Yesterday and Today,” which describes my love of all fashions. For instance, besides my modern-day designs, I have a collection of ‘60s – ‘70s clothing and accessories as well as several truly “historical” patterns (which means from way back, even before I was born!). I hope you enjoy my latest addition to the historical line, “Sisters,” which are two similar yet distinct dresses named after two of my granddaughters. Pair them with the “18th & 19th Century Homespun Handicrafts” to make your own lifelike displays. I’d love to see your photos!

More About Each Pattern:
The Hip Hugger Bell Bottoms Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: In the late 1960s – early 1970s, Hip-Hugger Bell-Bottom pants were the height of fashion. No fabric or color was taboo – jeans, striped linen, cotton with brightly-colored flower motifs, and even polyester pantsuits were cut as bell-bottoms. Flossie Potter has re-created the look for your American Girl® Doll in this EASY pdf sewing pattern. Sixteen pages of detailed instructions with full-color photo illustrations, three pages of full-size pattern pieces, and four pages of printable instructions (to save on printer ink!) show you how to make your own fashion statement. What's more, the pants can be created with or without the optional belt-loops* to vary your doll's wardrobe.
The 60s & 70s Accessories Set Designed To Fit 18 Inch Doll Clothes Such As American Girl: If you were a girl in the late 1960s and early 1970s, these accessories were must-haves. Now your doll can wear them, too! The Flossie Potter '60s & '70s ACCESSORIES pdf pattern shows you how to make WATER BUFFALO SANDALS (extremely flat leather sandals with a toe loop), four styles of LEATHER HAIR CLASPS (large rectangle to hold all of your doll's hair, small rectangle to hold some hair, elliptical shape, and pigtail holders that lace up), and a BRAIDED BELT (which can be made with or without bead decoration). And, if you're like me, you'll be happy to know that there is NO GLUING involved! This PDF pattern has 15 pages of step-by-step instructions with full-color photos, 1 page of full-size pattern pieces, and 4 pages of summary instructions (to save on printer ink!). The
Woodstock Peasant Blouse Designed To Fit 18 Inch Doll Clothes Such As American Girl: Nothing represents a time of youthful freedom like the Woodstock concert! It was a time to squeeze with your friends into a VW bus and head out to Yasgur's farm for "Three days of Peace & Music." The Flossie Potter Woodstock Peasant Top is reminiscent of the style of the day with its bell sleeves and flowing gauze, bedecked with flowers. You can create this popular top with Flossie's Easy-Plus PDF sewing pattern for 18" dolls. Detailed instructions with 13 pages of full-color photos, full-sized pattern pieces, and printable directions (to save on printer ink!) make sewing a breeze! Pair this top with Flossie Potter's easy "Favorite Fringed Vest" to complete the look!
The 1970s Body Suit Designed To Fit 18 Inch Dolls Such As American Girl®: The Body Suit was a popular item of clothing in the 1970s. These long-sleeved, fitted stretch turtleneck tops connected between the legs to stay tucked into skirts, slacks, and jumpers. The Flossie Potter 1970s Body Suit is based on that style. It also features raglan sleeves and a wide, fold-down turtleneck collar (rather than a mock-turtleneck). The PDF sewing pattern contains 12 pages of full-color step-by-step instructions, 3 pages of summary instructions (to save on printer ink), and 4 pages of full-size pattern pieces.

Love the pleasant blouse, it reminds me the tops I made for myself. I went to Woodstock with my girlfriend in my powder blue volkswagon and we got punish by our parents when we came back (unable to see each till we returned to school).
Thank you for the cute top.
Peasant blouse
Thank you Heidi,
Oh the memories! lol
Your hard work and generosity is appreciated.
Thank you for the pattern, they are all very cute.
Woodstock Peasant Blouse
reminds of the good ol days, i have a pattern of the blouse in my size and still like the style, thanks for the pattern!
Mon choix se porte sur le pantalon patte d’éléphant. Merci pour ces modèles
Thank You so much for the Peasant Top pattern! My plans are to make a few to pair up to some gaucho pants!!
I love the body suit but all are just great including all the hair accessories and sandals.
The 60s and 70s Accessories, is my favorite. Can’t seem to have enough Accessories for the hair and the sandals are cute. I vote for the Accessories. :)
I like all your patterns. The one I would like to see win is the peasant blouse very Flower child looking, love it.
Woodstock Peasant Top
I looked Wednesday evening(after 12:00p.m. eastern time to see if there was a vote for Freebie Friday and nothing was showing. I am just finding it now at 11:30p.m. eastern time. I would have voted also for the peasant top. Thank you for the free pattern!
I also am unable to vote. Instead of a vote button I have a create your own poll ????
Woodstock peasant top
Love the pheasant blouse
Woodstock peasant blouse get my vote
8pm CST Thrs- the poll is already closed ?
There doesn’t appear to be a “button” to vote for the pattern you wish to have for Freebie Friday. I’m leaning toward the bell bottoms – but the peasant top would be good as well.
Just wanted to say “thank you” for participating in Freebie Friday!
Side note, I am on the east coast and checked Wednesday throughout the day and Thursday morning (about 9:40 am EST) and the most recent post under Freebie Friday was last week (June 2). Just checked again (8:50 pm EST) and found this week’s pattern, although the poll is closed. While I missed the vote, all of these patterns look groovy. Thank you again!
Thanks for the pattern! Any of them would be a pleasure to own.
I had the same problem as others have reported. I checked on Wednesday and today but no vote available an it is showing as closed. However, I think the peasant blouse and the hip huggers are awesome so hoping one of them will win. Thank you so much for these great pattern offers.
I like the peasant blouse.
Thanks for the weekly free patterns. My vote is the hip huggers
I also wonder what the time frame is to vote now. I also have stopped getting the email to remind me to vote.
Thanks, Heidi. Love the peasant top.
I checked on Wednesday night the poll wasn’t up and its already closed. Didn’t get to vote, what has happened to your program?
i HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO FIND YOUR FREEBIE FRIDAY SELECTIONS FOR
JUNE 8 ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. WHEN I DID FIND THE SELECTIONS, YOUR
POLL HAD ALREADY CLOSED. I AM ON THE WEST COAST AND YOUR CUT OFF TIME
COMES EARLY FOR US!
Thank you so much… i love the stroll down memory lane :) wore them all… I always enjoy making your patterns. Thank you for your generosity. (PF, FYI… 7:40 EST polls closed, I don’t mind, grateful for the generosity, just fyi).
Thank you very much for the free pattern Heide. I have purchased a few of your patterns already and enjoyed working with them. I was a teen in the 70’s and all four of the choices are dear to my heart. I voted for the bodysuit. The very first Christmas present my husband, then boyfriend, gave me was a bodysuit…navy with tiny red apples printed on it. I was studying to be a teacher so it was very appropriate.
Thank you to all of you for your kind words. It was a lot of fun to make these ’70s patterns. My favorite outfit is bell bottoms with the peasant top and the fringed vest. My brother had given me a suede vest much like that one.
My vote is with the peasant blouse. Thanks Heidi for the patterns. Love them all.
The poll not working as of 3 pm Thursday Pacific time isn’t a browser problem. I tried 3 browsers.
Super cute patterns! As others have stated, there is some kind of glitch in the voting. It is closed already (3:07 p.m. Pacific time). Regardless, I’m thrilled to be getting another pattern from Flossie Potter!
Such cute era-specific patterns! Any would be awesome to receive. I hope it’s the peasant top. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
It’s Thursday. 3 pm. Pacific Time. The poll is no longer letting people vote! The good news for me is that I would have voted for the Woodstock Peasant Top if I could have voted, and it’s ahead.
Looks like others are having voting problems as well.
Thank you for sharing your talent and patterns. They are all darling.
I was surprised to see the poll had closed. I thought it closed a lot later. Maybe there’s a glitch? I really enjoy getting the opportunity to get these patterns free from the designers. Thank you.
I’m disappointed I didn’t get to vote. I checked on Wednesday night, Eastern time, before 11:00. This week’s patterns weren’t up yet. Came back on Thursday at 5:45 Eastern time and the poll is already closed! I thought it closed later, Pacific time than this.
So hard to choose because they are all so cute. But I could use a body suit.
i vote for the peasant blouse as well… really any free pattern is great though
Wow, I remember wearing all of these in high school! What fun to see them again, I Like the body suit best, Thanks as always for the free pattern.
Woodstock Peasant Blouse would have gotten my vote…although I would love any of the patterns. Thank you for the trip back in “fashion time.” These are all great.
I wish I would have had time to vote (but anyway, my favorite pattern won!). This Thursday morning, the poll wasn’t up yet, and this Thursday afternoon, it’s already closed! Is it a glitch in my browser?
Thank you Flossie Potter for the free pattern!
I remember wearing all these fashions in high school and college. I loved the long sleeve body suits. You could wear the low cut bell bottoms and not worry you were showing your bare skin or underwear! Your shirt never came untucked. It was very user friendly. Talk about a blast from the past. In truth I was glad to see bell bottoms go away back then. Some were huge!
These are all patterns I would love to own! Very much my style :) I think I am going to vote for the bodysuit because I can think of so many uses for it, but the accessories pattern is really tempting too…and those bell bottoms! Anyway, thank you :D
J’aime bien tous les modeles proposes. Grand merci pour ce partage.
I can remember being about 5 or 6 years old and wearing an outfit that consisted of blue daisy-print bellbottoms, a matching vest, and a gauzy blouse similar to the pattern. Tough choice, but I had to go with the blouse! Thanks for the freebie!
Boy do these bring back memories. My vote is for the peasant top but will be happy with any of them.

♥ the Peasant blouse. Most appreciative :)
They are all adforable and bring back memories but I will have to tho with thee peasant top. Thank s for freebie Friday!!!
Thank you for the free pattern. Hard to choose as any of them would be great.
My vote is for the peasant blouse
Thank you very much for the very cute choices. I love your patterns! My choice is the top as I have the perfect fabric for it.
Thanks for the reminder about Freebie Friday on FB, Cinnamon; busy Wednesday & I nearly forgot (as I did last week!). I’m choosing the Woodstock Peasant Top, as it’s been on my Wishlist for a LONG time!!! ;) Thank you so much also, Heidi!!!
Hip Huggers, my favorite. Thank you for sharing wonderful free patterns!
Oh my, how I LOVE the Flossie Potter patterns! Thank you So Much Heidi for your generous offering of FABULOUS patterns. I love them all and can remember wearing all of it in the 70s. I have so many patterns from this line – they are WONDERFUL. I will be happy with whatever pattern wins – and it seems as though the Peasant Top is the front runner. And big a thank you to Cinnamon as well for offering ‘freebie Friday’,
I would love to add this to my collection of patterns I use for my great-granddaughter. She would love this top also.
I love it all Im a child of the 70s and thiese patterns will all be in my arsenal soon enough lol
Having to pick a fave i say the top. Thanks.
It is so much fun to see what you have to offer every week! Thank you for your generosity! The peasant blouse is my choice.
Thank you for such great pattern choices. I voted for the accessories but any of these patterns would be fabulous.
Am I dating myself when I say; I recall wearing hip huggers, cotton gauze or printed lawn or often embroidered peasant tops and macramé belts? To conclude; though I love them all I think the hip huggers ’n bell bottoms are my favourite. Thanking you for your generosity in offering them as an optional freebie Friday selection.
Heidi, thank you so much for contributing to Freebie Friday. I love all of your patterns and have several already. I voted for the Woodstock Peasant Blouse because it is such an iconic ’70’s design, (and I just found some “new” fabric — from an antique store — that would be perfect for it). However, I will enjoy whichever pattern wins the vote. Again, thank you, and God bless.
Wore all of these back in the day… would love to have the peasant top pattern! Thanks for a trip down memory lane!
Having flashbacks! Remember wearing all these!
Thank you, Pixie Faire and Heidi! My vote is on the Hip-Hugger Bellbottoms, but they are so cute!
I love everything..thank you for what ever you choose to share with us..i wore it all.. lol
I like the shoes. Thanks for the patterns.
OH YES, I remeber the bell bottoms and peasant tops!!! Doesn’t that date me…LOL. Body suit is really nice too…..what a choice to have to make!
Thanks so much for the wonderful patterns…which ever wins
Bodysuits are back and I love them. I’m curious about the construction too. This sounds like so much fun to make and learn from.
How dear of you to share these lovely patterns for our consideration. I lives the 70s so these really are special. Thank you so much, still undecided.
The little peasant top has my vote. They are all as cute as can be!
Thank you Heidi, I like all of your patterns and appreciate your kindness in sharing your creative talents.
I love the peasant top—would look so cute with the pants—I went with the top; if it wins, I will get the pants! :)
Haight Ashbury, anyone? :)
This blouse brings back happy memories.
Ack! They remind me of some of my first sewing projects – when they weren’t “retro” ;-) Love them all and hard to choose, but I chose the peasant tops — looking forward to putting some embroidered flowers on them! “Are you going to San Francisco?”
They’re all cute (as usual), but the peasant blouse is probably the most versatile, since it can be paired with so many things.
All are adorable but the hip huggers are a notch cuter. Thanks so much!
all the patterns are cute..i love the top
The Blouse is lovely
Love the peasant top
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Heidi!
I LOVE the Flossie Potter designs and have used some of your marvelous patterns.
I voted for the bell bottoms, but I don’t have any of these patterns and any one of them would be super welcome in my collection.
Like you, I love and have sown historical, vintage, 60’s, 70’s and super modern designs and love them all.
Thank you for your generosity!
What a fashion flashback! Peasant tops were always pretty and I still like them! I also like the ideas from Helen to try different lengths. I vote for the peasant top. Thank you so much Heidi.
My vote is for the Woodstock Peasant Top. I’m all for an easy pattern that will go with a skirt, shorts, or pants. Thank you, Heidi, for a wonderful freebie!
Woodstock Peasant Top would be perfect. I already bought the bell bottom pants. Thank you so much for the free Fridays! Much appreciated!
The peasant blouse is adorable! Thanks for the free Friday patterns – that is so nice of the designers to do that!
Just looked at these patterns this week. Love the peasant top and bells. Fondly remembered style from my past. Voted for top, but absolutely love pants. Thanks so much to Cinnamon and all the awesome folks that donate their own patterns for Freebie Friday! Look forward to the poll every week!
Thank you for the free pattern. All are so cute but I really like he peasant top.
My vote is the peasant top. Thanks
These are all so fun! I remember wearing all those styles — I love them all but voted for the bodysuit. Thank you, Heidi!
My sincere thanks for the lovely patterns that are on offer on a Friday. I am very grateful. Can not thank you enough.
Hello Heidi,
I love all the designs. Thank you for the freebie :)
Thank you Heidi, I like all the patterns, but the peasant blouse is just so cute.
Any pattern would be a great addition. Thank you.
I love them all, but the top is the one I would use the most. Could make it into a dress or a tunic. Could put elastic in the ends of the sleeves for a romantic effect. Could also transform into a generic medieval dress. Thank you for Freebie Fridays!!!
my vote is the peasant blouse, i had loads of these in different colours in the 70’s. T hanks for all your lovely deigns.
