More About Each Doll
Lauryce – a girl who rises above the storm. Hurricane Katrina showed Lauryce the importance of reaching out to people and animals in need. Her and her friend start LIL Hearts (Living in Louisiana Hearts) to raise money through volunteering, bake sales, and charity walks for sponsored children in Haiti and animal shelters around New Orleans.
Tipi - a weaver of wonderful stories. Her father is an artistic puppet maker teaching Tipi his craft while she tells the rich stories of their country. With her creativity, she is determined to help her class by winning a mural contest to raise money for much needed school supplies.

I choose Lauryce, to return because she is very beautiful, and unique looking. There are not many dolls that look like her. She has a special look. One of those looks that are very different from the average looking dolls. She look more like a collectable doll, one that people would pay money to have. I would consider Lauryce, to be a role model to young girls.

Tipi for sure! I love to have dolls from other countries and am particularly partial to Asian dolls (probably because they look more like me than Caucasian or Native American dolls so far), and because I’m into learning more about Asian history and culture right now. There is so much to learn—I need more lifetimes! Laos is a country one rarely sees represented anywhere, and a Laotian doll is just an amazing idea.

The charitable organization I work with gives dolls to children facing long-term hospitalization. Because Les Cheries are no longer available in the US, we are switching to Heart for Heart. But we need all skin and hair colors, not just brunettes, so I’m thrilled that Lauryce will be available soon.
