Get To Know Donna (In Her Own Words)

"I taught myself to sew when I was a very young 20-year-old, who was starting a new job and needed a quick wardrobe. I moved on to sewing for the home when I purchased my first house. When my daughters started collecting American Girl Dolls, I found I could make most of the clothes in one evening... and that was it. I was hooked by the instant gratification!

Designing and sewing for American Girl Dolls has become a passion for me. Partnering with Pixie Faire is a both a thrill and an honor!"

My favorite is the 1970’s Holiday Maxi Outfit because it looks so much like a formal that I had when I was in Jr. High in the mid seventies. My dress had a blue and green plaid taffeta skirt and the top was just like the one in the pattern.

The patterns are all so cute, I also love the variety of hat patterns. I never seem to think of making hats and I think I’ll try that soon.

There are some lovely patterns; how to choose! I think my favourite has to be the tartan long skirt and lace blouse. It will make a lovely outfit for Violet for Christmas. Violet arrived for my birthday last month. I was having so much fun making clothes for Rosie who arrived from Santa for my 6 year old grandaughter, that my daughter thought I needed a doll of my own. I think she is the finest doll i have received in 50 years! Good thing you are never too old to play with dolls

I love the 1912 Apron Dress, I had so much fun making this for my granddaughter’s Rebecca. I have several patterns from Eden Ava and I find them all very nicely done, easy to follow and fun to do.
