Mix and Match Monday - Enter To Win! April 29- May 6, 2019

Hi everyone,

Enter To Win! Which Look Is Best? Vote Now!

This week's giveaway includes two unique stylings of the Petals 'N' Pleats dress designed to fit 18 inch American Girl dolls! Which style do you like best? Be sure to vote to help us decide which look is best and be entered into the giveaway to win all of the items* featured in both looks! (*Note - dolls are not included in the giveaway)

More About The Mix Up:  This week we are excited to present two cute looks that feature the Fashioned By Rebecca Petals "N" Pleats dress. This design is inspired by the 1930s and for one look we've gone with a classic look that represents that genre. For the second look we had a bit of fun styling our little girl to look like she's stepped right off the streets of harajuku Sataion, where the Lolita fashion is all the rage!

The giveaway includes:

  • The Petals 'N' Pleats dress made by one of our amazing Pixies, from the FBR pattern. Made in a beautiful vintage cotton fabric with a dainty floral print, it features inverted front pleats, a V-shaped bodice, tiny white sleeve binding, a classic white collar, and closes in the back beautifully with an invisible zipper.
  • The Mini Maven outfit includes a pair of black Mary Jane style shoes and darling "designer look" handbag! Perfect for a tea party or a day shopping with friends!
  • The Lolita Fashion Girl outfit includes a few pieces to give it that Harajuku Fashion sense. First, we have an adorable crocheted bonnet made by Cherie from her Pretty Frillies crochet pattern, then we've added a cute kitty face handbag, and finished off the look with a pair of clunky white patent vinyl chain boots!

Make It Today: Like the two looks that we've created and want to make your own? Click the images below to check out the patterns available.

Get to know Rebecca (in her own words): Hello, dear Pixie-Fairers! My name is Rebecca Dzierzon, designer of the Fashioned by Rebecca doll patterns.  I am very blessed to be a mama to six children ranging in ages (as of March 2019) from 4 months to 10 years. We currently live in Freiberg, Germany (close to the Czech border) where my husband grew up. He is German and obviously, I just couldn’t resist that European charm! I’ve loved American Girl dolls since I was a girl and started sewing for my Felicity shortly after I bought her. Fast forward to my adulthood in 2008 when I decided it would be fun to start sewing for my dolls again. Thanks to many sewing books, videos on YouTube, online sewing classes, and LOTS of practice, I started publishing patterns.  It’s been a party ever since!

Inquiring Minds Want To Know:

Q: What's your favorite food?
Rebecca: Potatoes. And bread. And blueberries. I pretty much love food!

Q: Coffee or Tea?
Rebecca: I’m more of a water girl, but I do appreciate a warm cup of fruit tea every now and then.

Q: What inspired your brand name?
Rebecca: “Fashioned” actually has a double meaning for me. 1. To fashion something is to create something  2. I wanted to focus on historical fashions so I took the past-tense of the word fashion. You know, so that it would make you think of past-tense fashions? But um, hmmmm….not sure if it worked. Well, now you get it!

Q: What's your favorite book or tv show?
Rebecca: My all-time favorite movies are Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea (the 1980s version starring Meagan Follows). Sigh. I love those films.

Q: What is your dream vacation?
Rebecca: To go on a cruise with my husband :)

We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us - which look is best! And be sure to thank Rebecca and the Pixie Faire team for giving away such cute outfits!

Thanks, everyone!
