Sewing For Back To School Part 3

Hi Everyone! I hope you've enjoyed the lessons in the Back To School topic so far! It was. treat to have Shari jump in and share how to make 5 fabric bows. If you missed that tutorial, be sure to pop back over and check that one out! This week we're looking at mixing in a bit of crochet to our sewn looks. There are so many great ideas and different ways to add a touch of crochet to your outfits! Whether it's a unique accessory, a crocheted detail, or a fully crocheted garment; each idea is sure to delight! Follow along as I talk through a few of the projects I've been working on and things we can explore together as we think about new projects!

Here are a few videos of the tutorials I mentioned. The first is the micro crochet market bag from @missxade . This is the one that started it all for me! I practiced first with the crochet 10 thread and a 1.25mm hook, then moved on to try with the dating cord and a 0.6mm hook.

In this next video you can see the tutorial I used to create a daisy granny square. As with before, I first tried it with the 1.25mm hook and crochet 10 thread, then moved not o do it with the tatting cord and the 0,6mm hook. Once I had my squares completed I used the market bag tutorial from Missxade to complete my bag.

The crochet project I show at the very beginning is a micro version of the Sophies Universe project. You can see more about that by clicking the link. I was at Part 2 of 21 - oh my!

I've been super excited to see the rise of crochet items in 2024 fashion trends. The granny square is everywhere - even featured in American Girl's newest outfit for Julie!
