The Hoppity pattern, by Genniewren Designs, is a cute Easter Bunny Outfit for your 14”-14.5” doll. It's the perfect choice for your doll's Easter egg hunt.
The bunny suit has a choice of a zipper or hook and loop tape front closure and features raglan sleeves with paws, feet, a lined hood with floppy bunny ears, and a fluffy tail.
Of course, Hoppity is not just for Easter – this pattern would make an ideal Halloween costume too, or it can be used as a sleep-suit for the colder months.
This size of the Hoppity pattern has been designed to fit 14” – 14.5” dolls such as WellieWishers™ and Hearts for Hearts Girls® dolls. It will NOT fit Corolle Les Cheries®, Paola Reina Las Amigas® or Dianna Effner Little Darlings® dolls as it is substantially too big for them. It also will not fit the 14” Melissa & Doug Mine to Love™ dolls as their feet are too large for the pattern.
The Hoppity pattern is also available sized to fit 18” dolls such as American Girl® and 15” baby dolls, such as Bitty Baby®.
Recommended Fabrics: The pattern is primarily designed for plush fabrics with 3mm pile, e.g. the type of plush used for baby toys, but it will work with stretch velvet, flannel, or sparse pile fake fur fabric. It is not suitable for fleece as that is too bulky for smaller dolls.
- 36” x 15” of your main fabric.
- One quarter of a yard of contrast fabric,
16” x 8” contrast fabric for the fleece/fur fabric version only.
12” x 9” teeshirt jersey for hood and ears linings for the fleece/fur fabric option only.
- 7” (23 cm) nylon or polyester zipper (do not use a zipper with metal teeth); OR approximately 7” (18 cm) hook and loop tape for closure, OR if you prefer you could use snaps.
- Optional: A small amount of fiber fill (polyester toy filling) for the tail.
Skill Level: Intermediate due to size

I used this pattern to make a tiger costume to match our granddaughter’s Halloween costume. It turned out beautifully and fit perfectly. Instead of bunny ears I made tiger ears and added a long Tigertail.
This was a fun pattern to test. Went together fairly quick. Zippers always scare me. I managed to pull it off. This was a great outfit for Easter or anytime for play. What a great Halloween costume for your doll too. I love the pattern was made so the doll can sit comfortably in it and it doesn't pull. Her instructions and pictures are very clear and easy to follow.
It looks great, and they are so cute
Thank you, I love this little bunny suit! Although, I did not stick to the 1/4" seam allowance and it's a bit tight (my fault). I ended up attaching a snap at the top and tied a ribbon around the neck to hide any stitches or velcro that may show. Next time I will use the appropriate foot!
