Jumping Jack 14.5" Doll Clothes Pattern

2 reviews   |

Quickly create three outfits in one with a turtleneck shirt, flared shorts, and a button on jumper that is reversible to create a faux dress. Based on a pattern from 1974, this 70s retro look is made with a reversible (tunic style) jumper that buttons onto wide leg shorts, or make the easy “belted” version for a more modern look.

This fun pattern will let your doll go from playtime to party time by adding an over the head (and reversible!) tunic style, open sided jumper over the flared shorts to create a faux jumper look. Jumper attaches with four buttons, or use an elastic belt for a simpler project. Pull on shorts have an elasticized back, and the turtleneck shirt has an open back to make it easy for little hands to dress their dolls. This pantskirt outfit is easily made from 1/4 yard of cotton fabric and 1/8th yard of knit fabric. (You can also use fat quarters!) Mix and match your fabrics to create a wardrobe of options in just one afternoon. The photo step by step tutorial and easy construction is perfect for even younger seamstresses to learn to sew.

This pattern was specifically designed and tested on 14.5 inch dolls such as WellieWishers™ by American Girl® and will also fit most 14-15 inch dolls such as Glitter Girls and Hearts for Hearts. My dolls have a waist measurement average of 6 inches. Please measure and test the fit on your own doll as there are many on the market and it may not fit the same on all of them.

This pattern is also available for 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

Recommended Fabrics: quilter's cotton, lightweight cotton, eyelet, seersucker / rib knit, stretch knit etc.

Love the shorts pattern and the t-shirt pattern. This is a very versatile pattern and I will use it many ways.

3 outfits in one

I was fortunate enough to be able to test this pattern, as with all Oh Sew Kat patterns it is well set out with clear instructions. My daughter loves this pattern and as mentioned in the title if you make the tunic double sided you can have 3 outfits from 1 pattern, really liked that it was fat quarter friendly so I was able to use up some of the random ones I had in my stash, she also really likes the top as she is able to use/layer it with some of the other things I have made her and she is happy her dolls now have more 'winter appropriate' clothes. It's really quick to make especially if you used elastic for the belt and would be really good to make if you needed a last minute gift.
