Madeline 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

5 reviews   |

Madeline is a jacket pattern by Love From Lola that is a must have in every dolls wardrobe. This lightweight, thigh length jacket features princess seams, pockets sewn right into the side seams, and a lined bodice. Since the jacket is held closed at the front with a belt no additional closures are needed.
Madeline was designed to be sewn using cotton fabrics that are familiar to most sewers, and with its simple construction it is great for those who have never sewn a jacket before.

This jacket pairs well with the Derby Day hat pattern by Rondeletia.

This pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.

Recommended Fabrics: Cotton, linen, and most light to medium weight woven fabrics will work. Not suitable for knits.

Madeline

Love this little jacket. Really easy to make up with no pesky buttons and buttonholes and lots of ease to wear over other clothing while still not looking boxy

What every doll needs

I found this pattern really easy to put together and the fit is perfect. The lining was a breeze and adds such a profession look to the coat. There is a small amount of hand sewing to finish the lining in the armscyes but everything else is done by machine. I will be making more!

Madeline Jacket for 18 Inch Dolls

I had the pleasure of testing this pattern and it was so easy and fun to do. If you have a problem with buttons or other closures, then this is the jacket for you. It is closed by the self fabric belt only. The instructions and pictures used guide you easily through the pattern to complete your jacket. Just using different colors or fabric can completely change the look of it. Your 18 inch dolls will get lots of compliments wearing their jacket. I highly recommend this pattern if your dolls need a jacket to go with any of their outfits, casual or more dressy .

Perfect First Coat!

This adorable jacket is the perfect first coat for anyone afraid to try a coat. All the things that make coats and jackets sound hard, like heavy fabrics, buttonhole closures, and complicated linings are missing from this coat ... instead, it’s a easy coat made out of familiar cotton fabric, with a very simple contrasting lining, and nothing but a tie at the waist for closure. I loved having the opportunity to test this coat, and can’t wait to make another one!
