Let's get started...
Supplies Needed:
-10” x 8” scrap of knit fabric
-Hair elastic
-Thread
-Scissors
-Sewing machine
Step 1: Cut two 10” x 4” strips of fabric with the stretch lengthwise.
Step 2: Fold strips in half lengthwise, stitch with a ¼ seam allowance.
Step 3: Turn strips RIGHT side out.
Step 4: Tie a knot in the middle of the elastic.
Step 5: Loop one strip through the elastic.
Step 6: Pin the ends together with the seams centered and facing out.
Step 7: Stitch with a ¼” seam allowance. Clip corners.
Step 8: Flip the strip and line the elastic with the seam, pin.
Step 9: Stitch with a ¼” seam allowance.
Step 10: Loop second strip though the first.
Step 11: Repeat STEPS 5-9 for other side.
You're all done! How cute is this?!?

One of my favorite hair styling tips is…for doll or human, work with the type of hair the doll or human has. I handle curly doll or human hair different from straight doll or human hair!
You can make these out of an adult stretchy head band. Just do a double twist in the middle and put the two open ends together and you have a no sew twist headband. It will fit an AG doll just fine.
…to use my daughter’s spray leave in conditioner (Honest Co.) and then use my fingers to smooth the problems out, twist with fingers if curly. It helps tame the problems from play.
I am anxious to try this new pattern. It will be fun to make headbands to match their clothing.
In order to not mess the dolls hair, I use a jersey book cover from the nearby dollar store to wrap the hair. Since I am a visual learner, if I win a sample, I might cut up some of the book covers to make these fancy bands. Thank you for the lovely patterns.
