My favorite holiday tradition is candle light service at church and delivering gingerbread cookies to all my friends and family.
Our tradition is to open our gifts with as many family members around.
My memories of Christmas were with my parents and coconut cake and boiled custard. My father’ favorite. sixty years later it is still boiled custard but different cake. Children and marriage have their own memories and traditions.
My favorite Holiday Tradition is gathering around the tree on Christmas Eve with my family…we each pick out one gift to open…then we watch The Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart and one more Christmas movie of our choice…the tree lights stay on through the night and we get up early to open the rest of our gifts then start in on the Christmas meal …We may not have receive a lot of gifts but it has never been about the gifts…it’s about spending time as a family and being thankful for “Another Christmas Together”…I have been blessed to be able to spend time with my Son every year…He always says…“no matter where I am or how far apart we are, I will always come home to spend Christmas with you, Mom.” He’ll turn 30 in January and he has always come home…That’s our Family Tradition…
Going to the Christmas Eve candlelight service with my family then coming home to a mini Swedish smorgasbord.
