I sew primarily as a hobby… on average, I spend 5 hours a week…But I expect this to go way, way up. ( I am converting my art room to a sewing room and expect to spend much of my free time in retirement by sewing doll clothes. I couldn’t afford doll clothes as a kid, my own daughter was a tomboy and didn’t care for dolls, my granddaughters are too into tech and sports….So, I sew now for my own enjoyment. I just completed a fashion design certificate at my local community college. I love fashion history. I want to sew 18" doll clothes for silhouettes that cross all eras.)
I sew primarily as a way to supplement my income as I am disabled I sell on Etsy. I spend 20 to 40 hours a week sewing depending on the season
I sew primarily as a costumer for theatre and dance, and also do custom clothing. On average I spend about 20-30 hours a week
I sew and crochet for us and for gifts. I crochet several hours a day making scarves to donate – it is so cold here – about 40 hours a week. I crochet afghans for gifts. When I am able to sew, I make our bras, clothes, lingerie – that adds about 20 hours a week. I need to learn how to knit to make doll clothes! Absolutely love today’s giveaway!
I sew primarily as a way to relax and satisfy a creative urge. On average I would spend a couple of hours a week sewing but when I start on a project it becomes my priority and I can spend all my free time on it. Re-creating historical outfits and exact replicas of bygone fashions is what I most like to work on. Thank you for the 12 days of Christmas competition.
