My reasons for sewing have changed through the years as have the time spent. As a child I made doll clothes as my Mother and Grandmother sewed. As a teen I made clothes for myself including prom dresses. I became a Home Economics teacher because I wanted to share my love of sewing. I have sewn for my own children and now for my grandchildren. I relax, as well as feel creative and productive. While the time spent fluctuates with the seasons and the reason for the project.
I sew, embroider, knit, and crochet primarily for the enjoyment of seeing the recipients I’m giving my projects to, but mostly grandchildren and veterans. On average I spend 10-15 hours a week on my projects sometimes more since I’m retired.
I sew primarily as a hobby for friends and family, maybe a craft show once a year. On average, I spend at least 8-10 hours a week in my sewing room. I love to sew doll cloths and quilts. This year I want to do a special outfit for each month of the year., Sewing relaxes me and helps to release the stress of the day. craft as well.
I primarily so as a hobby I love sewing and doll clothes are such great fun to work with I can do all kinds of periods in history and try to make them very authentic I love sewing and love dolls. I make at least one or two outfits a week and at times make one every day when I can spare the time I always make time for sewing it’s my therapy
I sew primarily as a hobby and the hours per week that I devote to sewing are very fluid, depending on the projects I have undertaken for the week.
