I sew for fun, for my grandkids.

I sew both for pleasure as well as for my business. I usually try to get in about 5-8 hours a day after my 40 hour a week job.

I have always sewed since I was a child. I love sewing and make all my own clothes and I love making doll clothes as well. I go to a craft sale in November each year and sell my doll clothes. I have given many doll clothes away to charities and needy children at Christmas. Sewing is a hobby for me but also rewarding as I am able to wear clothes that fit and exactly what I like!

“I sew and knit primarily as a way to keep me balanced and sane. On average, I spend at least two hours a day sewing and/or knitting.”

I sew because it is my passion and gives me great joy. I love learning new things and I love to share the joy of sewing by teaching. In this season of my life I am serving as the costume mistress for my daughter’s ballet company. Before a show, I can be sewing all day, every day. I have learned a lot sewing for VA Ballet Co and school. In the upcoming off season, I am going to teach some adults to sew and some of the youth at the ballet studio.
When my children were little, I made a lot of their clothes. I love to do heirloom sewing and smocking and would often make doll clothes that coordinated with their clothes. I smock for fun and relaxation.
