I sew primarily as a hobby and I average about 15-20 hours a week.
I sew and knit and crochet primarily as a challenge to myself to keep my mind, my manual dexterity and my eye focusing (all due to health issues) active and strong. It also gives me great satisfaction to see the smiles from the faces of my granddaughters and their friends when I unveil yet another outfit. Depending on whatever else is happening in my life, on average I spend anywhere from 5 hours to 25 hours a week making dolly clothes!
I sew, knit, crochet, embroider, make bobbin lace, cab stones, weave chainmaille, etc as a creative outlet, non-professional. On average, I am in my studio or sewing room daily and probably spend 6 to 12 hours daily on my arts.
I sew as a habit and only when I find a specific project that needs to be done (I’m really into growing my historical collection right now so this would inspire some quality sewing time)
In keeping with tradition teaching my granddaughter the importance of being a girly girl.
