A CULTURAL PATTERN I WOULD LIKE TO SEE OFFERED AT PIXIE FAIRE WOULD BE… a Cleopatra costume.
A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is Tulip Time
My favorite cultural tradition? It’s hard to choose just one, but I’m quite partial to when my family makes lefse and krumkake before Christmas every year. I love going to our local Scottish fair every year, too, even though my Irish blood is more recent than my Scottish. (I’m a mix of German, Irish, Norwegian, Cornish, Scottish, Oneida and Onondaga, with French and Dutch if you go back far enough.) I also love celebrating St. Paddy’s Day (though I’m not big on drinking).
I’d love to see more ethnic and folk styles, especially as relates to how certain costumes and dress evolved over centuries. (Traditional Chinese and Korean costumes are particularly fascinating in this respect.) For example, a basic costume pattern would be offered, but with instructions and optional pieces on how to customize it to a particular century or time period.
I would love to see Native American series as im Mohawk but it would be interesting to see all the tribes in pattern form
Our roots are in the Scottish Highlands with the McGregor Clan. Next year my daughter and son-in-law are planning their first trip to Scotland to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Its a trip my son, daughter and I have always dreamed of taking someday. I want to make a Highland dressed doll for her for her anniversary on St Patrick’s day.
