12 Days of Christmas - Day 12 American Girl Giveaway! (January 5, 2020)

Welcome to DAY 12 of our 12 Days of Christmas celebration!

For our 12th Day Of Christmas giveaway, we are GIVING AWAY the brand new American Girl 2021 Girl of the Year doll Kira Bailey™ to one lucky winner! The winner will receive the brand new 18-inch doll, in her original packaging, mailed to her directly from Pixie Faire! Read below to see all the details of what will be included (Note: if you already have Kira, and would like a gift card, we can accommodate that wish too!)

Who is Kira? Here's the description from the American Girl® website (images are also from the American Girl Website):

Kira is thrilled when she gets to spend a month at her aunt’s Bailey Wildlife Sanctuary in Australia helping care for koalas, wombats, and kangaroos. She’s always loved caring for animals, but it’s not all cuddles with cute joeys. When the baby wombats escape and there’s a predator on the loose, it’s up to Kira and her new friend Alexis to attempt a midnight rescue in the Australian bush!

  • The 18” Kira doll has green eyes and long, wavy blond hair that can be brushed and styled. It comes styled in a half-up twist with long loose curls.
  • A tie-dye tank top that ties in the front and has embroidered decoration on the shoulders
  • A green pleated skirt with buttons up the side
  • A pair of brown lace-up boots that are tough enough for bushwalking
  • A pair of purple socks
  • A purple wraparound bracelet
  • The Kira Down Under paperback book

We couldn't be more excited with the Australian theme for this new character! Many years ago we released the Liberty Jane Outback Libby colleciton of limited edition outfits and then later released as doll clothes sewing patterns. These designs feature the ruggedness of the Australian Outback mixed with the soft feminine Aussie fashion touch! Here's a peek at a few popular designs, we think they would be a perfect addition to Kira's darling collection!

Plus we have many other patterns that can be used to create the perfect pieces for her adventurous style! Here are a few popular ones:

But wait there's more!

Back in 2014 we launched our very own fiction books to bring our Outback Libby character to life! Follow the story of Libby and her friend Killara as they start a grand adventure in the heart of the Outback.

We have two kid-friendly stories available on Kindle - we'd love for you to check them out!

I have always wanted to see more mix and match styles of clothing/accessories/furniture etc all themed around the girl of the year . This would be 18”/American girl doll sized patterns. Also I would love to win Kira Bailey! Between covid and getting 4 back surgeries(spinal fusions and revisions) I’m 2020 I don’t have the ability to get her due to money issues from medical bills and I don’t qualify for their installment price affirm purchasing over 4 months bc I don’t have any credit bc I’m chronically ill and disabled and have no credit. So winning this would mean so much to me!

Pixie Faire has such an awesome array of doll clothes patterns of all eras, sizes, & styles. I’m always on the lookout for accessory patterns. I love those patterns that complete “the look” for an outfit – hats, purses, shoes, etc. I sew for most doll sizes so, I’d love to see accessory patterns for any of the American Girl and A Girl for All Time doll sizes.

I would love to see more accessories for the 18" dolls. I love all the patterns, and I with everyone’s suggestions above, including more modern patterns, more mix and matches, while also diving into more traditional ethnicities and diversities is great. It would be great to have some patterns for the other stuff. One example I’ve been trying to find is garden tools or baking supplies for the 18" doll sets. I have a kitchen set for my son and daughter’s dolls, and we have some baking items— but it would be nice to expand on those. Also, living room accessories, like lamps or rugs… Just some thoughts, I love this site— and will keep using it.

Personally, I like making shoes for 18” dolls. But what I don’t like is having to be on the computer to see the pattern, and I don’t like having to print 25+ pages for each pattern! Is there any way you can reduce the # of pages for each pattern? Perhaps less pictures or smaller pictures?

I will disqualify my entry from the start, as I don’t want a Caucasian doll. I am disappointed in AG for overproducing white characters. As of 2019, 60% of the US population was white. But AG Doll of the Year has 76% white characters. We are a much more diverse nation and our doll collections should reflect that!
