That you should spend more time using your iron than your sewing machine. And that nearly all construction can be done with either black or white thread and only topstitching needs to begin to worry about matching the fabric.
The time you taking pin you project with lots of pins (the more the merrier), the faster, and cleaner the actual sewing will be.
My favorite sewing trick is to look outside of the sewing room for tools. For example, I use letter size envelopes to store the pattern pieces for my doll clothes. This allows me to separate the smaller pieces and find what I need easier.
The trick that helps me most is to keep my sewing room organized with a place for everything and everything in it’s place. That way when I need something I know exactly where to find it and I don’t waste time looking for it or money buying duplicates of the same thing.
My favourite sewing tip is to press the seams, it saves me so much time.
