Suggestion for Emily and others who can’t find doll patterns to match girl patterns. You can scale down girl patterns if you have a printer with sizing option. You might have to experiment to find the correct %. You may also need to divide larger pattern pieces and minimize one part at a time. But it can be done.
Thanks to everyone who has offered suggestions. Thanks to Pixie Faire also.
I shop for my doll fashion fabrics and notions in several places—Hobby Lobby, Joann’s, A.C Moore, Michaels, and online with EBay. Nothing is hard to find if you know how to hunt for it!! lol

I shop at thrift stores, yard sales, antique stores and any fabric shop I pass while on the road. I have found some trims for doll cloths at antique stores and at garage sales. I sometimes use baby clothes to get a small enough print for the dolls.
I shop for my fabric pieces and lace and ribbon in my local thrift store. I live in a small community so going an hour to the city is counterproductive. I have used table napkins and table cloths. Bed skirting table runners curtains and remnants left others. There is no end to the possibilities if you just look at the item as a piece and imagine it as a doll dress. Sometimes a decent garment at the thrift store will also inspire. Maybe it is the colour or maybe the trim or buttons. I always look at these things with the dolls in mind.
I shop for doll clothes materials at thrift stores – my favorite :)

I have hardest time finding narrow bright colored trims and laces for doll size clothes. Where I have had luck finding these trims are at antique lace shops, garage sales, and flea markets.
