I have the hardest time finding small scale hooks and eyes, snaps, and buckles like the ones on vintage doll clothes.
I have the hardest time trying to find the time to work on projects!!
I shop thrift stores for children’s clothes that are not to worn. I then recut them to doll size. They often come with doll size buttons, buckles or embellishments. I carefully pick out seams, stabilize as needed to recut . If dirty spots I gently hand wash before taking apart. Fabric scale is often great!
I buy my very thin and flexible Velcro at Etsy at a shop that has many different colors also.
I have the hardest time finding knit fabric.
I shop for my fabrics in my huge stash at home. People give me fabric and I somehow collect more than I’ll ever use. So when I get ready to sew, I look through my own “fabric store.”
Love you patterns easy to read and esemble
I have the hardest time finding print fabrics to doll scale that don’t look like the belong in 1945! Lol
I have the hardest time finding stretch fabric for underwear. I would love to find the new fabrics that can be cut and doesn’t fray. I know it’s out there because I’ve bought some, but the patterns would be too large to cut apart for dolls. Also I would like a great place for fold over elastic. I’ve bought some on Amazon, but it’s in small pieces of different colors. I have seven grand daughters but I can only do one pair of underwear with the small piece of elastic.
I have the hardest time finding cute doll patterns your website is the best!!
I search for doll fabrics and trims at farmhousefabrics.com. Beautiful things there!
I use alot of velcro for my doll clothes. So I shop for those at Walmart and JoAnns. I also have a hard time finding decent fabric I am looking for. I have become incredibly picky thanks to this website haha. So I usually go to quilt stores for fabric. Though sometimes I do get it at JoAnns. I also get alot of my tshirt fabric by buying girls tshirts at Target. I find their tshirts are much better quality than that of tshirt fabric at JoAnns. Living in Alaska, I do have a limited amount of places I can go. But I generally find my fabric after searching all week lol.
Thanks for the giveaways!
I find lots of items at thrift stores, also some items such as the tiny buckles can be ordered on line.
I shop for my doll fabrics at hobby lobby. They are close by.
I have the hardest time finding the right size- soft velcro.
I shop for doll supplies mostly at Joann’s since that is all there is nearby. Even Joann’s is in a neighboring town. I am trying to use a few of the many items I inherited from my mother and also grandmother. I think I need to explore the internet more and the thrift stores. Thanks for the ideas!
I had a hard time finding buckles and zippers until I found buckles on Amazon and many other sewing supplies for dolls, Grandchildren and myself on Home Sew.
I find 1/4" buttons at reasonable prices on-line at Buttons.com. I stock up during their end-of year discount sales. They sell in sets of 3 packs. I often get a set of 3 for what I would pay for one pack at my local retail store.
I have the hardest time finding doll sized notions.
I find it difficult to find scale items for dolls in one place. I am always looking, because you find things in the most unlikely places. Buckles and tiny shank buttons are rare.
I like to look for supplies in my fabric and notions stash (and pile of things to upcycle).
I shop for fabric for doll clothes and stuff at hobby lobby usually because they have a variety of fabric. I also found out that the ribbon that you buy from the scrapbooking supplies is the perfect size for doll dresses.
I shop for my fabric from my stash mostly and leftover quilt fabric or clothes making.
I have the hardest time finding small separating zippers.
I have a hard time finding trims that are appropriately sized.
I have the hardest time finding small zippers. The ones you have to cut to size just seem bulky and I have the hardest time finding vinyl, suede and leatherette for belts and shoes in small pieces as off the bolt even a 1/4 yard seems expensive when one needs such a minuscule amount
I shop for fabric at Wal-Mart, Michael’s, JoAnn, and even garage sales.
I have the hardest time finding small trims for my projects.
I live in the far NE corner of Oregon and there isn’t a fabric store in our rural county. When we head for the “BIG” city (Portland), I love to shop at The Whole Nine Yards. I have found everything I have needed there.
I have the hardest time finding pin stripe knits for body suits and socks.
Even Walmart infant department doesn’t have them often.
I buy most of my fabrics from Farmhouse Fabrics as they have a “doll closet” category with mini prints suitable for even 11” dolls.. and only 1/2 yard minimum. Their customer service is beyond compare!
I shop for fabric at Joann’s.
I have the hardest time finding affordable small, interesting buttons; buckles; and appropriate material for the bottom of doll shoes (I do not like foam). Most of these items I can eventually find looking through thrift stores, or through Etsy. However, the affordable (read cheap!) aspect isn’t always in place then—especially with Etsy.
I have a hard time finding belt buckles that are the right size. I feel like Goldilocks — most are either too small or too large.
I shop for Clear Velcro on Amazon
…small scale prints at Fabric Dreams in Arcata, CA, when visiting my son and his family. My granddaughter loves to accompany me, and this eclectic fabric store has a little bit of everything.
I have the hardest time finding notions for doll clothes because our fabric stores keep closing.
I shop for fabric at second hand stores and in the Facebook marketplace. I’ve had luck finding some beautiful fabrics in decent sizes which I have been using to make my daughters doll clothes.
I have the hardest time finding large spools of fold over elastic. There are so many uses for it in doll clothes
I shop for all my doll fabric from a variety of places. I love thrift stores, fat quarters, and old clothes people donate.
I have the hardest time finding the small gadgets to go on my doll clothes, hooks, buckles and even velcro, I try to make some of them but not always a good idea
I shop for Notions at Amazon, Walmart, or Michals.
I shop for my granddaughter’s Our Generation Doll at Goodwill, Salvation Army and other thrift stores to find knit tops with a small design to make t-shirts and leggings that don’t overwhelm the doll size clothing.
I shop for doll fabric at thrift stores and yard sales, I love to repurpose 🙃
Thanks for all the free patterns and tips!
I have the hardest time finding doll-sized separating zippers!
I shop for material (up cycle) and doll sized items at the Salvation Army store and other thrift stores.
I shop for doll supplies at yard sales and thrift stores because I live on a limited income. Sewing (of any kind) is my favorite pastime, so I learn to make do with the supplies I have on hand. Although I have a hard time finding tiny buckles, etc. at yard sales :)
I have the hardest time finding small notions , buttons, lace, etc/ where you do not have to buy large quantities . At this stage of my sewing, I am trying t o store less and use more.
New to doll making so don’t know what I’m going to be needing
I have the hardest time finding very narrow trim to use on my doll clothes.
I shop for fabric at Mook Fabric because their prices are great!
Thanks for asking the question! I appreciate the input from the comments. Now I won’t feel helpless when I need supplies! Never thought I would read all the comments, but I did🤗

I have the hardest time finding 1 mm craft foam for making shoes; I prefer the 1mm to the 2mm foam.
I have the hardest time finding tiny buttons and buckles that fit nicely for doll clothes. It is also a challenge to find thin velcro. Thank you for this great giveaway!
I haven’t really had an issue finding materials and notions to make my doll clothes. My Nana had a collection of small snaps, buttons and hooks, which I inherited from her. When I need material, I go to the city, as I live in a very small town, and I go to Fabricland. I go through their remnant basket and have had a lot of success finding something for my current project. I have also been lucky to find things at the Value Village. Someone is always donating sewing and notions when they are down sizing.
I shop at Value village for unique patterns or buy clothes that i can re-do into something cute for my dolls

I shop for almost everything online and like several quilt shops for my fabric. It is hardest finding small buttons.
I have a hard time finding the thin Velcro n colors I use. Some sites sell colored velcro in bundles of about 5 different colors. They always include one or two colors I can use. The rest is useless to me. I would like to find a site that will let you select colors for your bundle. A single color is often sold in 5 yard lengths only!! Way too much for me!!!!!!!
I shop for doll hat making straw at Dollspart. They have supplies for all kinds & sizes of dolls.
I love to thrift and look for clothing that I can repurpose for my dolls. Its the thrill of the hunt and the fact that I can sew cheaper and reuse something that might have ended up in the landfill.
I have the hardest time finding cute knit prints and vinyl leather for shoes
I shop mainly at Michaels and Fabricland or online for my craft supplies as there are very few independent craft stores that have survived in thses past years. The hardest thing for me to find are fabrics with doll sized prints and yarn that is thin enough to make delicate garments for small dolls. Thank you for the lovely give-aways. The designers are truly generous.
My biggest challenge is finds prints in the correct proportion for the dolls.

I have the hardest time finding thin velcro for my doll clothes. I also have the hardest time finding small zippers.., both separating and non separating for the doll clothes. I would also like to find small embroidered flowers and decals at a reasonable price but all are usually too large so I hand embroider my own.

Thanks for giveaway.
I have the hardest time finding small matching buttons and matching Velcro for my 18 inch doll clothes.
I have the hardest time finding prints with smaller sized patterns. Most patterns on the fabric is sized for humans, and usually anything small enough for the doll is either really expensive, or has designs/colours that are really not something I’d want to make into an outfit.
I have a hard time finding small prints on knits. The large chain fabric store in my area (Orange County, CA) sells only a few pricey basic solid colors. I now find the best small printed knits in the children’s department at Walmart. I purchase the largest size to get the most fabric. Look for nightgowns and PJ sets.
I have the hardest time finding soft Velcro. I end up buying it from Etsy
The closest shopping is 1-1 1/2 hours ( Joann’s is 2 hours) away so I do my shopping online or at our local SPCA shop The Attic. I’ve found some really great deal on fabrics and interesting doll accessories. I also do a lot of shopping in my own upstairs stash.
i have the hardest time finding knit fabric and fake fur.
I like to go to Farmhousefabrics.com for trims and buttons. I have not bought fabric yet but they have an entire section for doll things, small scaled fabrics, buttons, etc. I have the hardest time finding small prints locally.

I have the hardest time shopping for more specialized fabric (denim, leather, faux fur, etc.) that I know will work. I buy everything online, so sometimes I really have no idea about the weight and handling of the fabric.
