My favorite fashion era is the 30’s. as they still retained some of the flair from the Roaring 20’s I would like to see a historical pattern offered for a total great gatsby outift.
I’ve been waiting for this day! I sew for many different size dolls and have recently wanted them to all have historical clothing. Currently I’m most interested in the mid 1800s. I’m a fan of Tasha Tudor and want to dress my dolls similar to hers and even create a dollhouse like she had. I’m starting to use Girl For All Times patterns for my Sylvia Natterer Starlette dolls, with some alterations. The dolls need skirts and fancy blouses, aprons, cloaks, shoes, hats, fancy dresses, every day dresses… A full wardrobe! I love to sew and knit for dolls!
My favorite era is the one where they have those fabulous hats like on “My Fair Lady”. I would like to learn how to make those intricate hats for Gotz dolls.
My favourite is the 40s- the peplum suit jackets and the dresses with the detailing around the waist and skirts flowing out in a nice A-line. If there were a costume option, I think anything from The Sound of Music would be great (yes, I know it’s supposed to be set in the late 30s, but close enough!).
