We are working hard on the content for our latest class - The Couture Sewing Academy! It goes "live" on April 1st, (no joke). So to help launch it with some fun and enthusiasm we thought we'd do a comment contest.

I want to learn couture techniques because I have been sewing for 40 years and never took a class in garment sewing I taught myself to sew using the only book available at the time POWER SEWING by Sandra Betzina. I think it will inhance my skill set and I think you are never too good or old to learn new technics
I want to learn couture techniques because although I have sewn for many, many years I have never broken the glass ceiling around haute couture techniques. I have so many “coffee” table books on these beautiful designs and fashions and would love to take my skills to the next level through creating patterns and clothing for dolls and eventually even transferring these skills to clothing for young girls (to match their dolls of course!)
My aspiration would be to reacquaint people to the textile arts through a common bond of love for fashion that is handmade, high quality and beautiful. Having unique construction techniques and/or embellishments, whether elaborate or simple, just makes the finished pattern or product so much stronger and pleasing to the eye. Learning couture techniques is part of the cycle of building on a strong foundation and really bringing out the inspiration of the individual designer. This class would present an opportunity to be creative with my skills and to share it with others.

“I want to learn couture techniques so I can”: I want be able to use tools, techniques, and tips you need to begin sewing couture methods. I have not been able to sign up for any Academy classes as of yet so thank you for the opportunity to enter to win. I want to share all sewing techniques with my grandaughter as she get older.
I want to learn couture techniques so I can apply the things I learn to all my sewing…doll clothes, cosplay and garment sewing. I’ve found I’m happier when I know my items are the best I can make to my ability. I want to do better.
