Free Doll Clothes Pattern November 3rd, 2017 - Help Us Decide

Hi everyone,

On Friday, November 3rd, 2017 we are offering a free pattern from Margie Bowie founder of Little Miss Muffett. Be sure to vote today and then come back and get your copy of the winning pattern on Friday.

More About Margie In Her Own Words: "I have always had a love of sewing and have been fascinated with manipulating fabric since being taught by my gran at around the age of 7. In more recent years, besides general sewing, I have made and taught quilting. My love of dolls was put on hold for many years until three years ago when I happened upon Pixie Faire’s site and fell in love with all the outfits and beautiful dolls. Living in South Africa, good quality dolls are not readily available, but a month after venturing into the doll world, my son surprised me with my beautiful AG Julie and with much encouragement from him, my late husband and awesome friends, I started designing dolls’ clothes. I have finally found my niche and love every minute of it."

More About Each Pattern:

Butterfly Kisses 18" Doll Clothes Pattern - This gorgeous high-waisted little dress in two lengths, has a ruffled scoop neckline, accent color on the shoulders and the hem ruffle, which comes up at the side, is finished with a bow. Appliquéd butterflies are placed randomly on the dress for extra pizazz. The Dress is made from Quilter’s Cotton, the Bodice is lined and closes with hook and loop tape in back. The skirt is cut as one piece and with clever fabric and pattern placement, the side split can be either on the left or right side of the dress. This is a great way to use up those tiny scraps – combine lightweight denim with lace; strong contrasts with bright vibrant colors; soft pastels with florals – anything goes. This easy PDF pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Edwardian Fall 18" Doll Clothes PatternThis relatively easy PDF pattern offers a charming little outfit which is based on an Edwardian style for little girls. Although not historically correct, it is perfect for today’s 18” Miss to wear on cooler days. The pretty, clean lines of the dress, finished off with lace at the neck, cuff and hem edges, has Broderie Anglaise sleeves, which is also repeated in the make-up of the Pinafore. A tiny ribbon bow completes the front neck edge. The fully lined Pinafore has ruffles at the hem edge and ties at the back with ribbon. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Puff Dolly 18" Doll Clothes PatternAn adorable full-gathered bubble-hemmed dress with a cute ruffle, just for fun. Made in soft lightweight Cotton, Chiffon, or Georgette, the dress features a round-necked bodice which has a drop-waist decorated with a pretty contrasting satin belt, buckle or bow; and a gathered puff skirt with ruffled hem. The dress is fully lined and closes with hook and loop tape in back. This easy PDF pattern offers a short-sleeved or sleeveless option and is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Teacher's Pet 18" Doll Clothes PatternIt’s ‘Back to School’ for our 18-inch Miss and time for uniforms, book bags and bus rides. This adorable School Uniform was made using both Quilter’s and Lightweight Cotton. Being totally reversible, this relatively easy PDF pattern offers four alternative outfits – perfect for the girl-on-the-go. Mix checks and plaids with solids for a delightful uniform, or patterns and plains for a cute skirt and blouse. Or, make a school uniform on one side and an after-school outfit on the other – the options and color combinations are endless. This pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

It’s always hard to vote for just one when Little Miss Muffett designs are here because they’re all so pretty! I’m voting for Edwardian Fall because I like the way the dress looks both with the pinafore and without it. I have plenty of lacy little trims to use, and I can picture it with many cute fabrics.

Have both “Butterfly Kisses” and “Teacher’s Pet” outfits, of which both are extremely cute when completed. Would like to see the “Edwardian Fall” dress. I think this one would look great on my Samantha and/or Rebecca doll(s). Thank you for all your efforts in designing these wonderful outfits. Your patterns and directions are so easy to follow and I would encourage anyone thinking of purchasing one of your patterns to go ahead and do it.

Thank you, Margie, for offering a pattern this week! This is a tough choice- I am a sucker for reversible items, but I also love historical dresses like the Edwardian one. The other two dresses are very cute. Any of your dresses would be a great addition to a doll’s wardrobe!
