Get To Know Peggy (In Her Own Words)

"Hi, I’m Peggy and I love sewing—especially for children. This is a fairly recent discovery for me, as I have been sewing since I was nine years old, but mostly for adults.

When my twin granddaughters were born, I discovered how much I loved sewing for them. And since they were little girls, I wanted to make a safe, soft cloth doll for each of them. I tried lots of doll patterns, but I wasn’t happy with the results, so I finally made my own pattern.

These dolls became a big hit at local craft shows! It was such fun to make them, clothes and all, but making shoes for them was hard.

After I enrolled in the Liberty Jane Design Academy and later the Pattern Academy, I became quite interested in designing my own doll shoes and clothing patterns. That led to my first published pattern: The Sweet Sneaks, a machine embroidery pattern, which I published with Pixie Faire in 2017.

Soon I began publishing more shoe patterns, and sewing patterns. And now, you can get my doll design and other toy designs, my machine embroidery shoe designs, and lots of my doll clothes patterns too, all on Pixie Faire! Thanks so much for your support of my creations. I am blessed to be able to offer them to others on Pixie Faire!"

Peggy is also a huge supporter of Sew Powerful and donates a portion of her pattern sales proceeds to the programs supported through the non-profit!

Inquiring Minds Want To Know:

Q: What's your favorite food?
Chocolate!

Q: Coffee or tea?
Right now, I'm stuck on Mocha Coffee.

Q: What inspired your brand name?
We retired to a mountain house on a frog pond a few years ago, thus the "Frog Pond," but the "Frog" is also an acronym for "Fully Relying on God".

Q: Where's your favorite place to shop?
Well, the fabric stores, of course! I can visit at least 6 in one day! Otherwise, I'm not much of a shopper, so definitely Amazon.

Q: What’s your dream vacation?
My husband and I have dreamed of seeing the Northern Lights.

Q: Do you collect anything special?
Angel figurines! I have some in every room of our house!

Leave a Comment Below!

We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us which Frog Princess Fashions pattern design you love most!

Thanks, everyone!

I do what sewing I can still do – my eyes and hands aren’t what they used to be – by hand, but I’m interested in trying out your patterns. The sailor dress first caught my attention, so that’s what I’ll try.

I love the colors you used for this giveaway’s dresses (the Cotillion Club dress pattern)! For the most part, I’m fascinated with the overall delicate look at first glance, while the blue/pink trimmed eyelet puts the icing on the cake – making them them absolutely perfect!

Frog Princess has many cute patterns and I have a few of them. I do not have an embroidery machinf but love the way the embroidery ‘finishes’ the outfits so nicely. I guess Waikiki Waves might be my favourite next to the cottilion patteern used for thisweeks give away and the charm school pattern that I will be downloading shortly. Way ro go, Peggy! I super love your patterns because of the machine embroidery. I often try to resize embroidery patterns to fit on the doll cloths so it is nice to have them made to fit the cloths. I sew for the 18 inch dolls for pure enjoyment and give the doll cloths to little girls who love and play with their dolls! I really like the charm school dress because of all the options.

I love the embroidery details on the collars and sashes of both dresses. They are fun details that raise the patterns’ level of sophistication to far past ordinary. Oh, Peggy! Whether it’s machine embroidery or finding bits of lace or maybe an applique to work into your patterns, I love the attention to details, especially your collars(!), bodice and waistband trims—or just the puffy sleeves that make me think of how Anne Shirley asked Marilla Cuthbert to have puffed sleeves on her dress, though Rachel was the one who made the Christmas dress! Soooo sweet, can’t choose just one pattern as a favorite! Thank you for sharing your artistry!
