Shari has two pattern collections on Pixie Faire, Thimbles and Acorns, her original brand - and after years of collaborating with designer Eve Coleman on the Keepers Dolly Duds Designs brand, Shari is now the owner of that brand too. Each brand brings a unique look to historical designs in a beautifully detailed way.
More About Shari (in her own words): "My grandma gave me my first sewing lesson when I was about eight years old. I had been fascinated with her sewing for as long as I could remember and was so excited when she gave me a doll pattern and sent me to her sewing closet to pick out just the right fabric for my first project. Sewing was a way for me to connect with my grandma, and although she may not have realized it at the time, this gift she gave me helped me become a better student.
History became more exciting as I became captivated by the dynamic fashions through the ages. This is what Thimbles and Acorns is all about; building relationships and encouraging learning.
In November of 2011, I wrote my first pattern. Eve was the first one to take me up on the offer to test it. We quickly struck up a friendship and before long we were collaborating in our pattern making journey. Working with Eve these past seven years has been a privilege and a delight and I am honored to be able to bring Keepers Dolly Duds Designs to Pixie Faire!"
Shari is also a primary instructor throughout the Sewing With Cinnamon & Friends course collection! You can find many hands-on tutorials showcasing her vast sewing knowledge in courses like Sewing A Bespoke Garment, Sewing a Themed Wardrobe: Fairy Tale, Renaissance Era, Colonial Williamsburg, and many more!
Inquiring Minds Want To Know:
Q: What's your favorite food?
Just about every day I like to have a Granny Smith Apple with peanut butter and chocolate chips... It's the ultimate one-dish meal. The peanut butter and apple make a great healthy lunch (it's homemade peanut butter by the way) and the chocolate chips are a built in dessert. My absolute favorite food is homemade pizza... because it is pure romance. My husband and I have been making it every Friday since we started dating... 34 years ago! It's become a Fuller Family tradition.
Q: What's your favorite tv show or movie?
Return to Me. My husband and I tend to sing through the whole movie because it has great background music and the story brings out the romance.
Q: Coffee or Tea?
Water... I drink a lot of water. Hot water in my favorite mug in the winter helps keep me warm and cold water in my favorite water bottle keeps me refreshed in the summer.
Q: Where's your favorite place to shop?
Walmart, it's convenient (because I'm not particularly fond of shopping) AND my daughter works there so most everyone there knows me as "Jackie's Mom"... and treat me like a celebrity.
Q: What inspired your brand name?
Thimbles and Acorns was inspired by my daughter who became infatuated with the story of Peter Pan when she was three years old. The thimble and acorn were the "kisses" that Peter and Wendy exchanged.
We'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment and tell us which Thimbles and Acorns pattern design you love most!
Thanks, everyone!
The Pixie Faire Team
The North Woods dress is really cute
The North Woods dress is really cute
I love so many of your patterns, and I am excited that you are including 8" baby patterns now, too. Your Afternoon Tea Dress and hat is a lovely pattern.
I love the regency era patterns
My favorite Thimbles and Acorns pattern is the 1830s Sarah Hale Dress. It is a hard choice, though, as she has created so many beautiful and detailed patterns.
I love all the doll patterns, sewing these clothes for my dolls gives me piece of mind.
I am such a big fan of Shari and the Thimbles and Acorns patterns! I like making historical outfits because they have far more detail and really challenge my sewing skills. I’ve learned so much with each pattern that I’ve made. I also like that some of the patterns feature a modern day version along with the historical version. I recently bought an A Girl for All Time doll and I am thrilled that Thimbles & Acorns patterns also come in AGAT versions.
I love making clothes for dolls and the favorite style is historical fashion.
I love all of her patterns. The authenticity of her designs and lovely styles inspire me.
I can’t pick just one as there aare so many that are awesome. She is so creative inher designs. Her instructions are clear and concise. She is an outstanding instructor for Cinnamon’s blogs as well.
I’ve been buying Shari’s patterns since before she came to Pixie Faire! I love her patterns, especially the historical notes.
I have several Thimble & Acorns patterns, and there are quite a few others that I would love to have! My favourite of the ones that I have made is the Prairie Rose dress. The Victorian Unmentionables are also very useful for completing many historical outfits.
I think the Happily Ever After Gown is beautiful. I like many of Shari’s patterns and her videos. I learn a lot from her.
I just found your patterns and I’m so excited to try them. I lost most of my dolls clothes in an accident a few years ago (my dolls are fine) and this gives me the chance to rebuild their wardrobe.
so many great choices, I cannot choose a favorite. They are all so wonderful. Thanks Shari for your great designs!
Love Sheri’s patterns, each one is so wonderfully detailed!
I absolutely cannot choose a favorite, there are too many fantastic patterns to choose from, my Historical Girls need appropriate clothes!
Hi Shari! The patterns are beautiful! I love the Once Upon a Time gown and the Literary Society gown; they’re so beautiful!
I love the open front cardigan for it goes with ANYTHING.
I absolutely love Thimbles and Acorns, as well as Keepers Dolly Duds. I am really happy that they are both part of Pixie Faire.
I love the details in the patterns. Each one is so beautiful but my favourite is the Northwoods dress.
I adore Shari’s patterns! I have been an avid historical fashion/costume hobbyist sewer since I was a child. It can be so labor intensive and expense to make a full size historic reproduction garment, but Shari’s patterns are perfect for realizing the same garment, but in 1/3 size for doll displays. It is a wonder way to let my imagination, creativity and talents run wild, while still having a garment small enough that I can afford to make and have enough time to finish it to completion. It is such a rewarding and satisfying undertaking!!!
One of my very Thimbles and Acorns patterns is Once Upon a Time gown. I love the detail Shari always includes in her designs. I have a copy of Shari’s book featuring patterns for LHOTP characters and treasure it. Can’t wait to see Shari’s next design.
I love all of Shari’s patterns, but I think one of my absolute favorites is the recent princess pattern, Happily Ever After. I am working on mine now, and I can’t wait to put it on my doll!
I have loved all of Shari’s patterns for years. The attention to detail and the patience Shari has in the classes makes it so much easier to accomplish the projects. Thank you so much for all of you great patterns and the give aways.
Shari, your patterns are so beautiful and detailed. I own quite a few of them since I love historical costuming! I especially love the Fairytale and Happily Ever After patterns. Doing that sew along was so much fun! I’m still working on my gown, hand embroidery is fun but tedious for a perfectionist like me. The petticoat I made using your instructions for slashing was gorgeous though. I’ve learned so much from your detailed courses, and love putting it all together for ideas of my own. Thanks for giving your time and easy nature to us students.
Truly amazing designer! The creativity her patterns have is beautiful, i have so many of them and enjoy every one.
All of the patterns are beautiful
It would be impossible for me to pick a favourite pattern from such an exquisite collection. I’ve enjoyed the history lesson given with each pattern I own. Your tutorials on SWC are very informative and clear. Thank you for all your wonderful contributions to our dolly world
I can’t decide which historic dress is my favorite—the detail on each is unbelievable and choosing the fabric will be just as fun as the sewing process. For now, the open front cardigan is of special interest and those jelly flat shoes are ingenious!
All of your patterns are lovely.
So many wonderful things about all her patterns! What is there not to love & want them ALL!!
I can’t pick just one! I sew for my granddaughters, and they love to pick the next pattern for their dolls. We love Thimbles and Acorns patterns and have a grand time mixing and matching fabrics for each dress. We also love the history lessons and have had many fun discussions while making beautiful doll clothes. We also love their accuracy. So much fun in one place!
I agree with many of you. I love all of Shari’s designs. The things I love most are the history lessons included in the patterns and the way her creations make a book or a time period come alive for a young girl. My favorites are probably the Civil War Era and Little House ones.
I love your patterns. It’s so much fun choosing fabrics to make new outfits for my AGs. I need more hours in the day to sew! Thank you for thes beautiful designs!
I’ve long admired the attention to historical details of these costumes. Being a former costumer for theater I have a strong appreciation for the authenticity of the patterns.
I am just getting into doll clothing so I haven’t tried any of the patterns, yet, but soon.
I have made several cloaks using the Irish Kinsale pattern. I love the saque back pattern and purchased it years ago but have yet to make it — it’s on my To Do List.
I love all of the patterns from Thimble & Acorns! I have purchased the matching Pixie Packs for several of the patterns so that I can use the special fabrics to create a doll wardrobe.
What talent! Something for everyone. I purchased the jelly shoes. Looking forward to making them
I love the A Piece Of History pattern because of all the possibilities, although I love all the 1920s ones too. Thanks for the giveaway!🌺💓
Shari, I fell in love with your patterns and your history of dressmaking newsletters before you joined the PixieFaire family and I’m delighted that you joined and added to your educational work with the videos you’ve made here. I found Eve’s patterns as well and there’s so much that similar between the detail and care made in all of the patterns of both brands. Thank you so much for sharing your skills and talents. I haven’t sewn up too many of the patterns in the past couple years because I’ve been a caregiver to my mother, but I’m looking forward to the coming years with some more time I can dedicated to building my skill set and making more beautiful clothing for the dolls. When I get brave, I’m going to try a Waldorf doll as well – it looks like so much fun, and it will be something I’d love to share with grandchildren, if I’m blessed with them, but if not, I’m working on some rehab of dolls to sell with some clothing that would be accessible to children who might not ordinarily be able to afford the luxury of the American Girl brand. I received a secondhand Elizabeth recently, so my next project is to try making a Sacque Back Gown. And eventually my husband wants me to make a George Washington regimental outfit for our Logan doll – we greatly enjoy visiting Colonial Williamsburg almost every year because it’s close enough to get to from our home in Maryland. Thank you for all your lessons and patterns – I’ve learned so much.
I couldn’t pick just one! I love the details, and the great instructions with all the patterns. I have made several, and ,of course, have several more yet to try. Keep up the great work!
love Thimbles and Acorn Patterns. Shari good at bringing to us wonderful patterns. Excellent technique, ways of applying them to her patterns, also to other patterns. to combine patterns. I like that she went with Peter Pan. When she did the fairy tale series. I thought she had tied it to that with the acorns in the story. All of her patterns are great have made alot of them with plans in the future for more.
I’ve been using Thimbles and Acorns patterns for over a decade; they are my standard for historical sewing! The colonial patterns are a favorite for sentimental reasons, and all the accurate undergarments add the extra touch.
I also appreciate the patterns that are available for dolls of different sizes, especially A Girl For All Time.
The CARRIE dress, for 14.5/18" dolls~ reproduction of the original from LHOTP ! Thank you Shari Fuller for your time/knowledge/humor/your grace/patience as you teach me sewing skills learned from your beautifully designed pattern catalog ~ I raise my seam-ripper to you :)
ps: sorry, for the few ‘under my breath’ cussed words, I MIGHT have uttered, during the construction of a pattern or two!? xoxo
The patterns are so beautifully crafted, the details and accuracy are just stunning. What lovely things you have created!
The level of detail in your patterns is amazing. I also very much enjoy the classes you teach.
I love, love, love Thimbles & Acorns patterns! I already own most of them and have made a few alreay. Well written directions and historically accurate designs make them wonderful selections. I can’t say which is my favorite – its too difficult a decision! :O) Keep these awesome patterns coming – I really do love them!
Since I’m somewhat of an amateur history buff I love all the research that Shari includes with her patterns and in her videos. So many can be adapted to more styles than just shown in the pictures. One just has to use their imagination. I’m always looking forward to her next pattern.
I like how detailed the historical patterns are for boy and girl dolls. You are very skilled!
I’m new to this whole group, but I do love all the patterns especially Happily Ever After. It’s like having two outfits at once.
I love the 1920’s Mary Brooks Dress along with the Cloche hat pattern…such a classic look! I love this designer’s patterns!
Beautiful pattens I own several
I can’t possibly pick a favorite pattern, because I absolutely love them all! I don’t own all of them but I routinely browse them for inspiration. I have been sewing more for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls, so patterns in that size would definitely be appreciated. My favorites are the historical fashions, and anything that can be customized for fantasy characters as well!

I have quite a few Thimbles and Acorns patterns. I especially like the Mary and Laura Dress pattern.
Love the historical dresses! My fav is the Grecian Renaissance!
My favorite pattern of Shari’s if the Gigot Sleeve dress. I love the ruffles! I even hemmed them all by hand while my younger brother was in the hospital before he passed. I have had to start over on the bodice, but can’t wait to finish it!
I love the “Literary Society” pattern most at the moment—- but really love ALL of them! Absolutely my favorite doll pattern designer! And Dolly Duds is second, so I think it’s great she owns both lines now.
I really love all her designs but the 1950s are my favorite. the keepers dolly duds designs have a lot of the ones I love. the town and country dress is a great pattern to work with I have made it with many different fabrics and trim.
Thank you Shari for all the wonderful patterns!
My favorite is the open front cardigan upcycle pattern.
my favorite one is the Young Martha Washington pattern but all are very pretty.
Choosing a favorite is impossible! i like too many of them. If I must only choose one I would pick the sacque back gown. I have bought several and hope to get them all done before Christmas.
Can’t pick one favorite! They are all wonderful, and I have far too many of them in my wishlist! But, since we are heading into fall and winter dressing, the North Woods Dress is on my project list!
I am loving all the patterns that you post and planning to make the dress form very soon so I will have something to try on the clothes. (I gave my American doll to my granddaughter, so can’t ask for her back!)
I love all the historic type patterns that are available. They are so much fun with all the details.
Beautiful patterns, hard to pick a favourite.
I love Shari’s patterns! Sewing historical clothes is so much fun. I also love the background information Shari provides.
Oddly, I especially like the ’60’s 1-2-3 wrap dress very much. not only is it multi sized but it is quick to make and versatile. I chose to line it edge to edge and make it fully reversible. I used a Cat Themed fabric because we were celebrating the cat’s birthday.. I actually made and wore a dress made like this in the 1960’s. It could be tweaked to make a [reversible] apron, a lab coat or a hospital gown. Other favorites include the 18th century bundle, Pandora [both sizes], the animal dolls, the puppet theatre [which I do not now find], and the steamer trunk. This is probably my favorite designer because of the variety of sizes and historical settings and the way in which these patterns interact in the everyday lives of dolls.
I love all of Shari’s patterns that I have bought, and I have bought a lot of her patterns because of the excellent detail and historical fashion. I love fashion history and really look forward to the historical info included with her patterns. Her classes are excellent too. All of the Thimbles and Acorns patterns and the Keepers Dollies Duds patterns are very well written and come out really well. I really like the George Washington patterns. I look forward to new patterns from Shari.
My favourite pattern is the happily ever after gown! I can’t wait until I’m skilled enough to put that together. It’s so pretty
What’s not to like about ANY of Shari’s patterns. I have yet to find one that I don’t love, and get great compliments on any that I make. The first one I tried was the 1790 Open Pelisse and Regency Dress, so that might be my favorite. I recently turned this pattern into a gorgeous wedding gown, and I LOVE the way it turned out!
It’s hard to pick—I love all of them, but I really like the Laura and Mary pattern.
“PAY Attention to detail!” Was my mother’s favorite phrase. She would say that as she showed me how to make and alter wedding gowns, I find that the Thimbles and Acorns patterns DO pay attention to details. They are wonderful and very true to the designs of the period that she is designing for.
I would have to say the entire Laura Ingalls Wilder series is my favorite. I have the series, along with other lovely patterns from a book I purchased years ago. So dear to my heart.
I love every single one of these patterns. I have most of them and have made several. I am so grateful for Shari sharing her talents, skills, and know how . Her clothes are absolutely beautiful and being able to use her patterns to create beautiful things is a blessing.
I love all her patterns – I can’t name just one. They are so detailed and the instructions are so clear. I love the Sewing with Cinnamon classes that Shari teaches. Looking forward to the ones that are in the works.
I LOVE the period dresses! If I have to pick one, then I’d choose the 1850’s dress.
The patterns are so detailed and interesting. Can’t pick a favorite.
I love the so long dress. I have so many on my wish list!
What a decision!!! So tough! However, if I must choose one, I choose “Happily Ever After.”
I love the Renaissance Faire Hsmpton Court gown pattern the best. Of course all her patterns are cute. Thank you Cinnamon for the awesome giveaways.❤️😘💋
I have and use numerous Thimble and Acorn patterns as well as KDD patterns love them ALL!
I have several of Shari’s patterns. I currently have 4 Bog Coats cut out awaiting the sewing machine. But my favorite is the civil war era dress.
I adore Sherr Fuller’s patterns! As a lover of history, historical garments, and sewing her line of patterns are captivating. I have made several of the 18inch Mary and Laura Ingles dress and I just can’t get over how adorable they are! Some day I want to make the full George Washington uniform. I really appreciate that Sherri makes her patterns as historically accurate as possible. I really helps bring history to life!
I love them all. It’s hard to pick a favorite as my favorite is the one I’m working on at present time. Right now it’s the side tie collar dress.
I love all the Thimbles and Acorns patterns and the Keepers Dolly Duds. My favorite patterns to make are the historical ones. I love how precise these patterns are and all the intricate details. Her patterns are as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside when finished. My favorites are Regency era patterns, the 1850’s, and Civil War era.
I love your patterns and I’m a history buff. You put a lot of attention to detail with your patterns and they would be a great addition to my collection
I love the attention to detail Shari puts into each patter. Especially the historical patterns. I have them all and have made 1/2 of the garments already. I find dolls in pot shape and clean them up, restore hair and make special historical garments with all their under garments. Plan to give to girls who will take of them
I haven’t tried any of the Thimbles and Acorns patterns, but really admire the details that the historical clothing has.
I love, love, love Thimbles & Acorns patterns. I found Shari first on Etsy where I was able to buy some of her wonderful straw hats for my Felicity and Civil War girls. Her historical patterns have such unique touches. Her patterns and KDD are by far my favorites. The Gigot sleeve gown is gorgeous as are all the 1850-1860 ones. Really can’t pick favorites.
I am beyond thrilled at this Friday’s gift. Thank you!!
I like most all of the period designs—but I really like the Waterfall Bustle.
Thank you for what you are doing for us this Friday. It is sincerely appreciated.
Love all these patterns – love Northwoods dress!
I would love to win the pack and take the sewing class for historical fashions for my dolls. They are dressed in period clothes when I can sew them.
Northwoods is my favorite, but they are all great
wow what is my favorite pattern it hard pick I love her historical pattern and history and best part of shari pattern she is teaches all her tips and how to make her dress with SWC classes
I love historical costumes for both people and dolls. I have lately fallen in love with the AGAT dolls and I so appreciate the patterns for them from Thimbles and Acorns. I appreciate the accuracy of the bib-front Regency dress which I have made and I am looking forward to making the Gigot Sleeve dress. It is especially nice to see accurate underwear for each time period!

Its hard to choose a favorite. Thimbles and Acorns patterns are lovely and I want to make them all. But right now, the Autumn Jumper will be added to my pattern collection.
Thanks for all you do.
