I sew for primarily for fun. Sewing doll clothes and trying new patterns is what I enjoy doing the most. I lead a group that sews 100 wardrobes for 18 inch dolls. Receive donations of the dolls and sew a totes to hold the doll which has a pocket to hold the clothes and distribute them to various charities at the holidays. The wardrobe includes dress, tunic and leggings, shirt and top, jeans and a top, nightgown, sleeping bag, pair of dress shoes, pair of sneakers, purse, panties and a pair of hand knitted socks. Many of the patterns are those from Freebie Friday. A video of packing the wardrobes is available at: https://vimeo.com/244852940

I sew primarily as a hobby on average, I spend 2-3 hours a week. Would like to better my skills and make cute, pretty doll clothes for all the 18" dolls my daughter and I have together. One goal is to make the twirler costume that is identical to the one my mom wore when she was head twirler in high school in the early 60’s.

I sew or knit or craft because I HAVE too!! It calms me when I’m stressed. It brings me joy when I can gift something hand made. It brings a little money when I find something to sell. I love making doll clothes and have to sell some as all my little girls have too many. God Bless you all.

I sew and knit as a hobby. I make doll clothes, stuffed animals, and anything that looks cute for my granddaughter and other children I know. I also have donated some to raffles in my area. I do plan to make some for charity events or for places like Good Will or the homeless. The time I spend sewing or knitting depends on my schedule. When I start a project I have sewn for the entire day to get it done. I work with exchange students so that takes up time as well. I do love to sew and it it is gratifying to see the smiles on the faces of the child when they see the items.

I sew mainly as a hobby but the idea of starting a business selling doll clothes is on my radar. I sew all types of garments for my granddaughter but my real love is sewing doll clothes for the 15" and 18" dolls. I love to sew and give away detailed doll clothes for silent auctions and benefits within the community. On average I spend 15 hrs a week sewing and maybe that many more hours searching websites like Pixie Faire, etc. for patterns, ideas and just the right laces, buttons, etc. to finish my labors of love. Thanks to you my next project will be making doll shoes to match my outfits.

I left the Corporate world back in December of 2016 to make a change in my life and to ensure that I could be there for my little girl on a daily basis full time. I am primarily working on projects to find my niche in the industry and what I can start building supply of to get my business going. It’s taken me a year to get the right equipment, and fabric, and patterns collected, with of course creating few things over the year. I truly want to make a success of this so that my daughter will have something to involve herself in further in her future, should she choose.

I sew primarily for fun and to relax and give most of it away. I did get gready and keep a quilt for my own bed last summer. I sew many items for our crafts at our musuem doll club. We meet once a month during the school year and have a history lesson and snack for girls ages 6-12. After the lesson we do a craft and often try to teach some sewing skills. Last winter volunteers brought in enough sewing machines so the girls could make doll quilts. I’ve made doll jeans and skirts from old jeans and the girls have decorated those items.
