I sew and knit for my family. I especially like to sew for my granddaughter’s AG doll. I did knit the doll a sweater, also. I knitted scrubby dish clothes for Christmas gifts. I probably spend more than 2 hours a day on these items.
I sew [ or knit/crochet] primarily as a [ because I just love to sew. My mother daught me to sew when I was 7 and I have sewn all my life. I mostly piece quilts…bed sized quilts for my home and family, and lap quilts for the outreach mission ministry at our church to give to children who enter foster care in the state of Oklahoma. The average time I spend sewing varies depending on other commitments and time but I normally spend at least some time daily at my sewing machine and also hand quilting.
I sew mainly as a hobby, however, my hobby has turned into a small home business. I have done 2 shows in 2017 which encourages me to forge on! Being retired, I have as much time as I care to spend sewing!

I primarily knit as a hobby to relax in the evenings, probably between 10 and 15 hours per week. I also sew and crochet, but knitting is my first love, learned from my mother. I make gifts for family, especially grand kids. My granddaughter is 4 1/2, and I am excited for her to reach the age where she transitions from baby dolls to American Girl dolls. She is a green-eyed blond. So excited for her to have a ‘matching’ doll.
