I sew as a hobby to relax. My daughter has an 18" doll and I am trying my best to make items for her doll.

I knit & crochet 3-4 hours in the evening. Right now crocheting beaded AG wedding gown. Wonderful way to pass the time in Michigan winter. Currently -15 degrees!

I sew to help off set the house budget. And because I just love sewing. Most of my sewing time is on the weekends 8 hours if possible.

I sew because I enjoy it. and most of my finished products go to needy people like the Pine Ridge Indian reservation. Doll clothes for the Christmas gift dolls, dresses for children and babies. Layyettes for preemie babies that don’t make. I just love to sew.

I sew and crochet (and have started knitting) primarily as a interest that started with cross stitching. I started cross stitching when I was elementary school (for real) and over the years I have expanded my interests in other forms of art. I have always loved doing art, in my opinion art is better shared with people. Why create art, if it is only going to end up on your shelf. Generally when I make something, I usually have a purpose in mind. Of all the art projects that I have done, I have only kept a handful for myself. The others I have given to friends and family. I have mostly sewed 18" doll clothes, but I have also made my three nieces dress that they were all the time, as well as pajamas for my family. On average, I spend countless hours a week doing something art related. I have never really counted, I sit down and I work on the project until it is done. I lose track of time, which can be very relaxing for me.
