A favourite cultural tradition I enjoy involves the comfort food from my childhood….toutins (fried bread dough) and molasses for breakfast, fish and chips with dressing ( summer savory being the essential ingredient) and gravy for lunch. Impossible to find a pattern on Pixie Faire (or anywhere else) for these.
My favorite cultural tradition is cooking a German feast onNew Year’s Day-the recipes are passed down from my maternal Gramma. The culture; pattern I would like to see would be a traditional German outfit.
A favorite cultural tradition that I find interesting is handfasting. I recently saw a version of this and found it to be very beautiful. A cultural pattern I would like to see is Lederhosen. I don’t think you have it, unless I’ve overlooked it.
I am 83 years old and have been sewing Barbie clothes for 56 years. Now I sew Barbie and American Girl and American Boy doll clothes for Great Granddaughters. I know I will never get to Scotland but that is our heritage. According to a cousin, who has been there, we even have our own plaid and he has the full dress kilts.I would be very excited to sew at least 6 Scottish outfits. More girls and boys on the way. It would be a part of their heritage. Thank you for your consideration..
A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is the Edinburgh Tattoo – usually broadcast in Australia on New Year’s day. Being married to a Scot it is almost obligatory – though I have to admit I really enjoy the “pipes”!
