We love to make tamales for Christmas just like my husband’s family always did. I would love some patterns for Mexican Mariachi band costumes and the traditional embroidered tunic women wear.
Cultural tradition respecting elders. I really didn’t keep up with any traditions, but follow the American cultural traditions. Perhaps walking, riding bikes and meeting with friends.
A favorite cultural tradition I take part in is my sister and I making my late grandmother’s cookies, sausage rolls, mincemeat tarts, etc for Christmas as it’s just not Christmas without them. (not really cultural per say, but a family tradition)
A cultural pattern I would like to see offered at Pixie Faire would be a Japanese kimono or yukata. (or both since they’re similar).
I really find Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) from Mexico interesting, the tradition of honoring your ancestors is very beautiful. I love to see all cultural dance costumes and tribe specific Native American clothes.
A favorite cultural tradition is making Christmas cookies and driving around to look at the Christmas lights. I would love to see frontier wear of the American frontier days.
