My tip is: make sure you have the right color thread before starting a project.
My favorite sewing tip is when setting in the sleeve in armholes, always clip one-quarter in the seam on both the armhole and the sleeve. This makes it easier to set the sleeve on 18-inch and 14.5 inch doll clothes. The seam clip should be a scant quarter inch so not to go beyond the seam allowance.
I favorite sewing tip is press as I go. Finished product is much better.
My favorite sewing trick is to use a wide zigzag over a piece of yarn to create gathers. Just pull the yarn and it forms the gather!
Make sure you have copied your pattern in proper scale.
