My assumption is that most of us sew! We’d love to hear more about your sewing experience. Are you just learning to sew, or have you been at it for a while? Do you use a basic standard machine or one with all the bells and whistles? What about a serger, are you using one of those? (or wondering what in the world I’m talking about!)

I use a Singer … 2 Brothers … and a classic Bernina:) I use the heavy duty Singer for most of my sewing, but have Brother Serger and Embroidery machines set up, too, for those applications. My classic old Bernina is a back up, just in case. I started sewing when i was 3, next to my mom at the old black Singer, and got my first machine – a hand crank Singer – when I was 5 when I began designing and making clothes for Barbie .. and the rest is history!
I have an old Viking 6440 from the 80’s. I like its all metal gears and solid construction. It is reliable and has cams for embroidery stitches. The clip on feet are easy to change. My only complaint is that it has no automatic buttonhole feature. Also parts are becoming hard to find. Thank you for this give away. Reading what other folks have to say makes for a feeling of connection that is really satisfying.
I use a Kemore sewing machine. The thing I like most about it is that it s quiet and runs smooth. I have never had issues with it.
I sew on a singer sewing machine. I have been sewing since I was 11. Sewing is a lost art with our younger generation. I am a grandmother of a 9 year old and I just purchased an American girl doll for her and what better way to teach her how to sew with making doll clothes! My singer is old but can easily be set up for her to learn basic sewing. Before retiring, I was a director of a foster care agency and I started a sewing class for our foster kids. They loved the new experience and provided a new skill they could take through life. My granddaughter is so excited to get started. Teaching my grandchild also gives me another exciting hobby!
I have a plain old Singer sewing machine, and I like it because it sews good and was not very expensive.
