I think we all agree that the most important part is directions that are clearly written and for those of us who learn visually images are a bonus.

To me I would say clear ideas on more than one way to use the pattern. Whether is be two different doll sizes or take a basic pattern and make it fancy. I’ve been sewing for 6 decades now so most things are a issue, well maybe sewing Blythe clothing, but you always have to keep in mind that a newbie that is just starting might think that their in only one way to use the patterns.

But the way you and your sewers present instructions, they are extremely valuable to the sewers too. Clear images and instructions. I prefer for the designer to use the same fabric for the entire construction, especially with a pattern that is not so common. Also, I like for the fabric to have an obvious Right and Wrong side.
