or fill in the blank "My biggest sewing challenge is______"
Love taking classes to learn new things.
Love the site and all the items available for making the cute doll clothes. I’ excited to try the kids this year.
My biggest challenge is sewing with knits.
My biggest sewing challenge is hardware! From zippers and buckles to grommets, I always avoid them when I can in favor of a hand done method. I don’t mind the hand sewing, but it seems like there is an easy, faster way, if I could only wrap my head around it! I would love to make doll belts using buckles and grommets if I could.
One of my biggest sewing challenges is getting the time to sew and getting getting my space for sewing organized
My biggest challenge is making the time to sew. I am really good at getting a project cut out. But am really bad at making the time to actually sew.
My biggest sewing challenge is altering patterns to match my vision of what I want the garment to be like.
Most of time I need time and also find right combination of fabrics.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding patterns for different doll outfits, or foot wear
Thank You for all the sewing tips.
My biggest sewing challenge is altering patterns to fit 18 inch dolls that are a bit larger than the American Girl.
When I am making doll clothes, I like the patterns that have a child size available so they can match. Into crochet at the moment. Working on an idea, just need the math to work…
Just getting ready to start back up making doll clothes for my Granddaughters after a long break doing my favorite things to take care of a family emergency. all is going back to normal and I am looking forward to sewing with them.
My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to make all the doll clothes I would like to make!!
My biggest challenge id to just get started again. We moved last year and i still don’t have my sewing area organized.
I have been sewing for 70 years and have learned something from every video you have shared. Thank you!!
This year, I need to oganize all my sewing suppies in one area of my home. I will use existing tubs & cabinets for it all.
I sometimes have a hard time finishing projects. Either I get to a step that makes me nervous or one that’s just tedious, and I’ll put off doing it, even though I really want to be done and start something new. I try really hard not to start a new project until the last one is done, because otherwise I would have a million unfinished projects. Right now I only have about 3 unfinished projects, so not too bad!
My biggest challenge is getting the corner right.
These videos are so helpful. I hope we’ll be able to access them in the future to remind us when we can’t remember exactly how to do something covered in the course. Thank you
My biggest challenge is the vent pleat on the back of a straight skirt. Also adjusting a bodice to cover a sheered waist. It used to be finishing the bottom of the zipper, but once I watched the master class video I think I can do that now. Thank you for the 12 days of Christmas videos, it has inspired me to use different needles, presser feet and just get on with it.
It’s the New Year and it’s time for me to get rid of the things that I know that I’ll never use, the notion(s) that I thought would make easier and don’t and so on. Also, it’s the perfect time to either organize or reorganize all of notions that I have. The challenge is to find new and better ways that are practical and won’t break the bank!
Buttonholes
I love the full-length sleeve with the gathered cap and the bow trim on the split. That is adorable! I even want to try it on a full-sized garment for myself!!
I definitely want to make that cute straw tote! Are there different colors of the cording available? I think it would be cute, made in a variety of colors!
My biggest challenge is finishing UFO’s. I should make a New Year’s Resolution not to start anything new until I finish what I have started…but truthfully, that probably won’t happen.
Orgagnizing material, trims, and supplies is my biggest challenge. Being a costumer for a high school and middle for years + donations left on my porch during the pandemic has overflowed my sewing room. I now have 2 embroidery machines, 2 sergers, 1 commercial machine, 1 heavy duty machine, and 6 sewing machines. Many were left on my porch, hardly ever used when their mothers died from covid.
Ive been sewing for almost 60 years and every video and article always teaches something new,
Finding time to sew
My biggest challenge is getting started. I spent too much time choosing fabrics. My room has to be clean before I can start. And not getting distracted and doing something else.
My biggest sewing challenge is me. I get in my way. Once I get started I am alright. But it’s the getting started as I am a procrastinator.
Here is another challenge I have – so many patterns and fabric it is hard to choose what is next.
Although I’m still struggling (a little) with my sewing, I cannot thank you enough for all your help. You are my go-to guru for sewing and I spend time everyday with your site and videos. God Bless all of you and a very wonderful, prosperous new year! It is wonderful to know I have friends to help and encourage me in my sewing adventure.
My biggest sewing challenge is Taking time to slow down and sew.
Link is fixed now. Thanks.
My favorite sleeve hack is the raglan split sleeve.
My biggest sewing challenge is choosing the right fabric. Weight, design size, texture, etc. I find that challenging.
I have a hard time deciding what fabric would make doll clothing look the most realistic. You do a fantastic job of that and I’d love to learn how you do it.
The link below the Sewing with presser feet isn’t correct and takes you to the Sewing with pleats course instead.
My biggest challenge will be how to use all the bundle supplies when I win.
I have TOO many UFOs. My eye are bigger than me time at the moment!!
My biggest sewing challenge is motivation. I really think I want to sew but just don’t DO it :{
My biggest sewing challenge is completing all other projects before trying another pattern. I see the new pattern and I want to try it.
Getting started again after a cross country move. Much more difficult than I imagined!
Not Maintaining my focus which means making mistakes.
My biggest sewing challenge is interruptions and getting started again.
I have a trouble keeping all the sewing fabric and accessories organized.
My biggest sewing challenge is organizing my space without running to other rooms in the house to retrieve items to finish a project; finishing in time before it gets packed up or placed out of sight when company comes over – find it later; So organization in other words, staying on target. What areas of the home are better then others to store and see items everyday? Thank you : )
The short mni videos are awesome. Thx.
I have trouble finding the desire to sew!
Finding time to sew.
My biggest challenge is finding time.
My biggest challenge, the pain in my hands just keep getting harder and harder to this kind of work. I am full of ideas and creativity and even time, i wish I could find a soul to pass on my skills and share this fun hobby with. I am not near any family and to new to the area to have any friends yet.
My biggest sewing challenge is making time to sew all the ideas and fabric and patterns I have collected before my 4 youngest granddaughters get too old to play with the dolls! I really, really want to retire!!! :)

My biggest challenge is finding an organized area to sew in. Our youngest son and his wife and 3 girls are living with my husband and I. We’re building an apartment for us next to the house that will include a sewing room. Meanwhile all my supplies and machines are stored here in the living room and bedroom. It’s challenging to find everything to start a project, or finish one.
My biggest challenge is time.
Time
My biggest challenge is making the time to sew all the clothing I have such inspiring and wonderful patters for.
I’ve purchased items- I need a better way to keep them organized once they are downloaded.
My love the sew-alongs with your tips for sewing on miniature items. I’ve sewn garments and costumes, but your tips for sewing in miniature is a game-changer when it comes to sewing doll clothes! With your patterns and sew-alongs, your demonstrations of how to hold the items helps so much these tiny pieces.
I need time — tht’s my challenge!!!
Need patterns for the antique doll Bleuette.
I want to join the SWC group, but I don’t sew for 18" dolls—my dolls are 15" Ruby Red Fashion Friends. I’m not sure how much of the course will pertain to me.
My biggest challenge is getting to the fabric store. Also, love the purse project so will find the time to sew for others!
Right now my biggest challenge is sewing with stretch denim. It isn’t very stable and it changes shape every time I iron it. Help!
My biggest sewing challenge is hemming knit fabrics. I have tried the coffee filter/ tissue paper trick, and it works really well for seams, but I have had no success making hems with it.
I think my biggest challenge is sewing dolls or stuffed animals… I enjoy the outcome but find the actual process tricky and challenging.
I biggest challenge is coming up with my own designs, Designs that pop!!! Adding the little trims and appliques!
My biggest challenge is sewing and gathering a skirt that has another layer. Lace over taffeta etc. All that bulk leads to lots of mistakes. HELP
My biggest sewing challenge is deciding what pattern I want to use first.
I’ve recently lost some weight ( Yay!) and I have several skirts that need to be taken in. They have the new waist bands and I don’t know how to modify them.

My biggest sewing challenge is finding the time to work on things!
Finding time to sew is my problem.
I can hardly wait to add contrast color to invertet pleats on my next doll skirt. I might even get brave enough to make myself a skirt like that; those are SO adorable!
Need time to organize
I’ve enjoyed jumping on to your site each day of this contest. I have discovered SO many helpful videos. You are an inspiration and so easy to listen to & learn. Thank you. My challenge- is always….finding the time to do ALL the projects I want to do.
My biggest challenge is finding the time to sew. And then when I do find the time to sew to be able to finish what I start. During the Christmas Holiday season I was able to sew 3 nightgowns and 2 dresses for the girls dolls for their presents. Now I need to find the time to get in some more sewing for them because they are begging for more clothes for their babies.
