I sew and machine embroidery primarily as a hobby on average, I get to spend only 5 hours a week on my various projects. Life and colds seem to get in the way.

Hello, I started sewing doll clothes for my daughter’s American Girl. Now that my daughter is a grown up and does not play with her doll anymore, I sell doll clothes on my Etsy shop. I usually sew for about two hours a day. I am slow sewing and I would love to sew more during the day. Thank you.

Right now I sew as a hobby ,but I want to change that. Right now its pretty random how much time I spend each week.
Since I retired from my career job 4 yrs ago, I have been sewing for a home business. I make more in repairs & alterations, but I LOVE making doll clothing and craft items to sell at our local small Sr. gift shoppe .(portion of sales goes to local Meals-on-Wheels) IF you count prep work and gathering supplies, I can spend 25-40+ hrs/week. Liberty Jane/Pixie Faire website classes (& patterns) has added knowledge & techniques that has taken my 50+ yrs of sewing up several notches ! Thank you for such a great Christmas collection. Shari’s patterns are detail excellance !

I sew primarily as a way of escape from reality. On average, I spend 6-8 hours a day. Some days i accomplish nothing. Other days I may accomplish a great deal and yet other days nothing but looking at fabric or daydreaming. sewing is a way of escape and comfort especially if sewing for some one who appreciates it.

I sew primarily for my own dolls and for selling in November/December at craft shows. I sew much more in the winter as I’m a gardener and we have a short summer in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula so I work in the gardens then. For myself, a few hours a week, for selling maybe 10-12 hours a week, but mostly in a few long days per week when I get on a sewing jag. I do other crafts and art too for myself.
I love needlearts (smocking and all types of embroidery) and crafting small/miniature items. Lately I’ve been making doll things for my grand niece and am currently enjoying making clothes, shoes and doll food. Sewing helps make the items useful but I really prefer the handwork. I sew primarily as a hobby on average, I spend not nearly as much time as I would like to on it, but with this really cold weather, I am spending more time in my sewing room. By the way, I LOVE your patterns!!
