I sew as a hobby and spend 10-20 hours a week doing so. I sew for both charity as well as for little girls in my neighborhood; that is, I give most of what I sew away.
I sew mainly for my online store and my church’s quilting projects. I don’t spend enough time on the projects. I hope to jump start my online business this year.
I see to save money, also for my children to have clothes for their dolls. I don’t sew every day, usually work on one project until it’s done.
I sew primarily as a hobby/ business. I, first,as a child, made doll clothes, by hand. I learned to do machine work as a teen and made my own clothing. I majored in Clothing Design in college and graduate school. After I made my wedding gown, and had children I made their clothing, from play clothes to formal wear including one daughter-in-law’s wedding gown. Next came grandchildren and then their dolls. I have come full cycle. since I am now retired, I do design and sew as a business. I spend untold hours, designing, making patterns, researching and sewing.
I sew primarily as for my home business now but would be sewing even if I didn’t have a business. On average, I spend 5 or more hours per week in my sewing room. Would spend more if I didn’t work a full-time job as well.
