I sew and knit primarily for charities – afghans and quilts go to our Children’s Services and are given to the babies/children/teens that end up going through the system to keep as a security blanket; preemie and baby knit hats are donated to the local library and they disperse them to local hospitals and pregnancy centers; knit hats and scarves I make all year and put on the giving tree at church at Christmas. Now I have 2 grand daughters under 3 and as a "hobby"I am making 18" doll clothes for the AMG dolls I bought for them. When they are each 5 they will get their dolls (like their mommy did) with a complete wardrobe and I would love to give them historic costumes to add that extra touch!
I sew as a hobby and I’m delighted to find that it’s sewing that I wanted to return to when I retired and had more time. I sew for granddaughers’ dolls in New Zealand and Canada and also for myself, and I usually spend at least half a day each week, but often much more. One of my granddaughters is starting to get interested in historical costumes so this one with the bustle would be great! And the others, too.
I sew, knit and Crochet primarily for my business, however, I do sew for my Grandchildren which I consider this being for the love of the AG dolls and them. As for the hours, I sew, knit or crochet every day in the evenings. As for the hours I work, it is really hard for me to say. I still work a full and part time job but manage to keep enough inventory to do a couple of large craft shows around the holidays. Love your patterns.
I sew primarily as a hobby right now as my granddaughter keeps me busy! I would eventually like to make this more of a business. There are not too many days when I don’t sew – I think I average about 3hours a day.

I sew primarily as a way to increase my wardrobe for work since clothes are so expensive. On average I spend about 2 hours a week sewing. Since I have not been sewing very long I mostly made skirts with elastic waists. I also buy skirts at thrift stores to repurpose – mostly cutting off to hem or repairing seams. As I get better, I’m going to try some of the doll patterns for my granddaughter.

I sew as a hobby, but actually do sell quite a bit of what I make. I call it a hobby because I don’t make enough to cover the cost of my time, so don’t really consider it a profession. The amount I make pretty much covers the cost of materials, so I can keep doing what I love without so much monetary output.

I sew primarily as a way to relax and satisfy a creative urge. On average I would spend a couple of hours a week sewing but when I start on a project it becomes my priority and I can spend all my free time on it. I sew for my family and home. I love to sew for my granddaughter and her 18 inch dolls. I really can’t say how many hours I spend because it is not a daily thing I do unless I am working on a project that takes more than 1 day. I also acquire dolls to give to girls that don’t have any and then I sew to make clothes for the dolls. Can’t give them the dolls without clothes to dress them in. I love all of these patterns!
