Three of my children were adopted from China. One year a local church had a Chinese new year celebration so we went and celebrated with them. A Chinese themed pattern would be nice.
Our family’s culture is French Canadian on dad’s side and English on mom’s side. Every year at Christmas each person receives one stocking gift. On Christmas day we start with the youngest to open ONE gift and on to the oldest and continue until all are opened. This way everyone sees what is given and received. I love this and have done it my entire 60 years.

A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is the Scottish Highland games. My husband is actually a participant in the games and I leave the throwing of heavy items to him to enjoy. I like to watch and enjoy the other events at the festivals. The costumes, music, and dance are so much fun to take in. And the food and drink too

A favorite cultural tradition I find interesting and have taken part in one time is the Oklahoma plains Indian pow wow. I love the dancing, hearing the native language, and the beautiful and elaborate regalia.

I don’t have any cultural things that we do. Just American things — but of course, they are based on a grand sum and conglomeration of all other countries traditions.

A favorite culture I find interesting is the early immigrants coming over to America from Germany and Poland. My ancestors and their traditional clothing is very interesting to me.

A favorite cultural tradition I take part in is playing bagpipes. As I compete in solos and band, I spend a great deal of time traveling to and attending Highland games and Scottish fairs. So I absolutely LOVE today’s giveaway!
I would like to see a pattern for a more traditional men’s kilt (like the great kilt). The pattern for the current kilt is wonderful but it is definitely a modern kilt, as are the jackets and accessories.

A favorite cultural tradition that I find interesting and beautiful are Native American PowWows. The beautiful doeskin dresses and beading are breathtaking. I would love to see a Native American Princess pattern with the long flowing fringe and and beadwork.
A Dutch tradition I take part in is giving chocolate initials in everyone’s Christmas stocking. We also like to have olliebollen for New Year’s but that doesn’t happen every year 😀.

I don’t have a favorite cultural tradition, although I love hearing and reading about them. Cultural patterns that I would like to see are Scottish and Irish outfits and ball gowns.
This pattern is great for me as I am Scottish and would love this as New Year is always a special time and culturally a great time of year, to have these outfits made. I love to see national costume patterns.
My favorite cultural experience is celebrating Swedish Midsommer in June. I would love to see an Indonesian pattern as my granddaughter will soon be marrying a charming Indonesian young man.

A favourite cultural tradition I love to take part in this time of year is Mummering or as it is known in some parts of my province – Jannying. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Google it, you’ll be delighted – now that I say this, I just might have to make a Mummers costume for my dolls😊

My family doesn’t have any cultural traditions we participate in really. While I don’t really have a favorite, my husband’s cousin was married in a traditional Scottish wedding which was beautiful. My family has Irish and Native American ancestry so seeing some traditional clothing/accessories from either of those would be interesting. Thank you!

A favorite cultural tradition is making Norweign pastries – thanks to Norweign friends who introduced me to them when I was a young girl. I married someone from Scottish background – so the kilt pattern really caught my eye!! Native Americans
A favorite cultural tradition I would like to see offered is the Jewish traditional garb from the early 1900’s. I just finished watching FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (for the 100th time) and although I am not Jewish, I do appreciate its traditional form of worship. With the ornate structures in Russia and the honoring of the Sabbath, theirs is a form of worship that is both filled with wonder and history.

A favorite cultural tradition our family does is making lefsa for the holidays. My husbands family is Norwegian. This is something his family has been doing for many years.. We hope to teach our grandchildren how to make it.

Since my family came from Europe to America quite a ways back, we don’t have many cultural things we still include in our lives, but we do enjoy the German potato salad that Grandma still makes!

I don’t think I have a favorite cultural tradition, it is always interesting to hear about how other people do things, even here in the US traditions are different depending on the state/area. I’ve always liked things from the farm and country. Maybe a “cultural” pattern would be outfits appropriate for farm life.

We also go to the local Highland Games every year to celebrate our Scottish ancestry. I would absolutely LOVE to add these outfits in my dolls’ wardrobe!!

So many beautiful patterns at PF!! ♥️A favorite cultural tradition I take part in or find interesting is decorating the Christmas tree with ornaments and objects made by my grandmother and great grandmother in the ‘hollers’ of Kentucky in the 19th century. I feel connected to my past. A cultural pattern that I would enjoy seeing (and making) is a fanciful Southern ball gown from the mid 1800s, complete with hoop skirt.

My grandma was Ukrainian and besides the food and the dancing…I love that Christmas Eve and Christmas day were about church and family and gift giving was reserved for the Feast of the Epiphany. I would love to see patterns for Ukrainian dancers.
