Many of you have large collections of dolls, or sew for someone who does! We'd love to know more about the time period or era your dolls live in. Are they historical, if so from which era? Are they modern girls, is so which style do they prefer (boho, rocker, sporty, etc)? We'd love to know! To enter today's giveaway - simply respond to this post and complete this sentence:

My favorite clothing era would be the 1890’s. But I truly enjoy making clothing of Japanese geisha’s with all of the lovely accessories for their hair.
My favorite fashion era is the 40’s…I would love to see a beautiful heirloom nightgown pattern reminiscent of that era.
My favourite dolls’ clothing type/era would be historical fantasy, because it is just so much fun to sew beautiful, wonderful things that blend together without having to always follow hard and fast rules about accuracy. :)
My favorite era of clothing and fashion is the ’50’s – ’60’s. I was a teenager during those years and had a nice collection of dolls and enjoyed making outfits for them. As a budding seamstress, I collected patterns and made my own. I would love to see an assortment of appliques, jewelry, and other adornments.
My favorite era for clothing is the ‘50s. I was born in ’51. And my granddaughter got Mary Ellen for Christmas. I already made them matching aprons in a vintage look cherry fabric. So cute! I’m really tickled about the first AG.not doll, Logan. I’d like to see 50’s patterns for him.
I don’t have a favorite era but I love outfits from multiple cultures. I would love to see more of those kinds of patterns.
My favorite era for fashion is the 50’s- iOS love to see more patterns that feature a full skirt with proper crinoline underneath.
My favorite era of clothing is the 60s. I’d love to see gogo boots
I especially enjoy sewing fashions from the 60’s and 70’s. I would like to see more patterns reflecting our immigrant heritages.

my favorite era of clothing and fashion is the forties….I would love to see a pattern of play clothes and/or school clothes.I make dance costumes for my dolls and my “Grands” also.because they are very busy with all forms of dance.So much fun to have a fashion show of the dolls in dance costumes and then quick change to everyday clothes. The 18 " doll is a joy to dress. but I also sew for my 16" and 8" dolls.

My favorite era of clothing is 60’s. A peasant blouse with wide bottomed bell pants would be so cute. A beaded leather long fringed vest would accessorize nicely.

My favorite era of clothing and fashion is the 1940s, but I’d love to see a pattern (or patterns) for children’s clothing of all eras and countries. I like the American Girl historical dolls because of the authenticity AG puts into their clothing and accessories and I don’t especially like dressing our dolls as adults. I would also like to see more patterns and/or instructions for accessories — some of my favorite “patterns” were The Flossie Potter “18th and 19th Century Homespun Handicrafts” and the Jinjia Mixed Goods books.

My 9 yr old has just got into the American Girl dolls and we’ve only purchased the My Life 18" generics for the AG Dolls. Wowzers they’re expensive so she and I are making accessories and outfits together! I pray for her sewing becomes a life long passion. My favorite era of clothing is Colonial and Revolutionary War era…Betsy Ross dress sewing a flag type style with all the beautiful accessories. (A sweet note: Betsy Ross is My Grandmother 15-16 Generations back on My Dads side….I about fainted when I learned this…lol) Thanks again so much for the giveaway!

An era I would like to see is not just one but possibly a famous woman/girl identified from each era and the type of clothing that she would have worn. The pattern would give a short biography of the famous woman/girl along with the pattern/directions of the outfit. It would be nice to also have the undergarments and type of shoes they would have worn too.
The era I would like to see most would be the 30-40’s, they had such style then, never went to the grocers without donning the hat, gloves, the pocketbook to match the heels, (oh to have such class now!!)love the big band era. Would love to see some beautiful outfits from that time

Each era of fashion has its own unique beauty captured in the details that identify the styles. My favorite era is the late 60’s and 70’s because I grew up with those styles. The creativity of the designs and variety in shapes and fabrics of the 60’s and the bright colors, bold prints, and fun accessories of the 70’s always make me smile. My favorite era for clothing varies, but I’m fond of the everyday clothing of the 18th century (really, all eras had interesting clothing to play with, though). I would love to see a pattern for the Victorian era Rational Dress since I’ve been very interested in it lately.

Oh, this question is too tough. I’ve postponed commenting to think about it today, and I just can’t settle on a favorite era or specific clothing item. I have so many different patterns already due to your generosity. I do think the roaring twenties fashions look fun. I also like the ethnic fashions. One of these days I’m going to get brave enough to try making some shoes.

I’d love to see a pattern for “Mori Girls” fashion – long, loose and flowing with lots of layers, and a mix of varying prints and solids.
(‘Mori’ means forest in Japanese,
and Mori girls look like they come from a fairytale forest in their loose dresses,
colorful accessories and lace overlays.
Mori girls choose to live their lives according to their own aspirations.)

Being a 1954 high school grad, I still love the full skirts with full slips, blouses and sweaters, saddle oxfords shoes with bobbie socks. The main thing about the style was the length of the dress or skirt, below the knee, not short like a shirt. So I think a poodle skirt would be a nice pattern Thanks

How can I pick just one era? I love the 50’s Mary Ellen doll and love poodle skirts. Maybe a how-to on making and attaching embellishments, like for sweaters or shirts. How about a Letter Sweater? Instead of letter jackets, some high schoolers in the 50s had Letter Sweaters.

My favorite era of clothing is the 50s for sewing clothes for 18" dolls. The styles look very becoming on these dolls. Also, I like all the details that can be added on this era if clothes, such as the embroidery and appliqué of poodle skirts, and the variation of choices that you can make of collars, bodices and hems.
I’d love to see a pattern for a Tinkerbell or fairy like costume.
