A new tradition, but favoured by all of us, is hiding the gifts around the house on Christmas eve and having the children stumble upon them throughout the day on Christmas day. Santa leaves his note by the cookies and milk and sends them on a “scavenger hunt”. It’s so much fun!!!! Merry Christmas ?

My favorite Christmas tradition is having a secret Santa at the family dinner. When handing out the presents everyone has to read a poem about the present, so everyone has a chance to guess what it is. Plus the family picture every year.

Every year for the past 15 years my daughters and grandkids have their pictures taken and that is the best gift I ever receive. I have years of memories on my walls. I live near all of them now that I am retired so I don’t need to travel 3 hours each way to spend Christmas with them. I have given my granddaughters many doll clothes over the years and many of them were from the patterns I get from Pixie/Liberty! They were all loved.

Then it gets real quite as we hold hands and pray, thinking about the one’s we are missing. My favorite tradition over Christmas is sharing my love for the Savior’s birth with my husband who is not a Christian. We have kept our marriage solid because everyday Jesus interacts with us and I can see subtle changes all around me!! I have developed certain traditional elements that my spouse has learned to gravitate to and accept. Also, every year he sees the joy and family time as a true extension of God’s love in more ways than I ever imagined since we were first married!!
