I love sewing and embroidery but most of all I love making doll clothes. I usually spend 4-5 hours a day in my sewing room but since COVID-19 has appeared on the scene I have been in there for at least 8 hours almost every day. I have on rare occasions had to do something else!

My passion is sewing clothing for my 3 18” dolls. I also love to knit and quilt. I’m a lefty who never learned to crochet. I would love to learn. I have a closet full of pretty outfits I’ve made for my dolls and one day I may break down and sell them.

I love to sew and do other crafts as well including making glass beads and jewelry. I sell my doll clothes in my local quilt shop sometimes or by word of mouth.

I have an etsy shop but don’t really use it much. I work full time as a cardiac nurse so I sew in the evenings and on the weekend. I sew at least a little while almost everyday.

I am a crafter; quilting is my passion, but I also grew up sewing my own clothes, knitting and crotcheting. Then came embroidery, counted cross stitch and needlepoint. Although I make a lot of things to give to family members and friends, I do participate in one craft show a year.

I sew, crochet, embroider, cross-stitch, bead primarily as a hobby for my home and loved ones, although sewing is definitely my top activity. The time I have to spend on it varies due to my work schedule, as I’m in healthcare, but would probably average to 10 hours per week. I just found Pixie Faire so haven’t yet had the chance to use their patterns (busy at work), but I am very excited to do so for the American Girl doll we just gave to our goddaughter.

I sew and knit as a hobby and for gifts; everything from garments for adults and children to doll cloths, purses, and home decor. Since retiring, I spend 30 hours per week between the two. Having projects keeps me sane during lockdown. I’m always thinking about the next creative endeavor before the present one is completed. Once in awhile I’ll throw in a new creative outlet for variety. I recently painted wooden peg dolls for my 4 year old granddaughter. And now I’m planning on trying my hand at clay miniatures, like play food, for dolls.

I sew by hand, not machine, as a hobby and as artistic expression. Mostly I mend for my family and sew for my doll collection. I almost said “invent” for my doll collection, as I have very few patterns for the dolls that currently hold my interest (the ‘Maru and Friends’ lines) but have been knowns to piece together different patterns and drape what patterns I don’t have – to achieve the affect I want. As I have carpal tunnel from my career as a computer artist, it tends to take a month or more, working just a little at a time, to finish one dolly project. WISH I could work faster AND that I had ever learned to crochet and knit. Still, I make do with the skills I have.
